Bouncy rubber plates allow you to drop a fully loaded barbell without damaging your equipment or floor. Low Noise Bumpers are far quieter when they’re dropped on the floor than the other types of plates, because they’re wrapped in rubber. They’re also usually used with rubber matting, which helps to deaden sound and protect the floor at the same time. Floor Protection The thicker width of bumper plates coupled with the flat surfaces on the plates helps to protect your floor. By spreading the weight across a larger surface area there’s less pressure through one particular spot when the weights are dropped.

    • Great value if you don't mind the large width of crumb rubber plates

These are great for the money. I used them for deadlifting for about a year before I upgraded to urethane bumpers, and they still look like new. None of the metal center inserts have come loose, although I'm not doing any rough overhead drops. The pros: because they are made of crumb rubber they are very soft. You can drop them on a lot of surfaces and move them around without damaging and scratching things. They also are relatively quit when you put them down or drop them. The cons: like all crumb rubber, the plates are way wider than cast iron plates or even urethane bumpers. This means that if you have bars with short sleeves you wont be able to fit a lot of weight on the bar. Compared to iron, it is also quite a bit more difficult to move the 45 lb plates around and get them on and off the bar, as they are about 4 inches wide and have no handle. This is always an issue with crumb rubber though and is not specific to this product. I eventually upgraded to urethane bumpers for the convenience and because I prefer to use bars with short sleeves. But these were a great starter set and I could have been happy with them for a long time. Overall, they are a great value if you are looking to get a lot of weight per dollar. ... show more

The main issue with buying weights is how heavy they are when shipped. This came free shipping and took a while to receive but once I have it, it did not disappoint. It is beautiful and came in pristine condition. I ordered the 35 lb weight set just to have a go at it and see if I like it or not. It will not damage your floors and will be much quieter when dropped. It's like a tire. I am very happy with this. The smell is not overpowering and it will dissipate after a few hours once opened. These seem to be the best value bounce plates on amazon. After lots of research these gave the best value. They also have great customer support. Once arrived had one issue. Reached out and they solved it right away. Weights are accurate, durable against bouncing and don’t smell like others.
