  • Who remembers the old version? Here is a reissue.
Bulova watches make up most of my collection. This one is a wonderful reissue of a classic. It's easy to read, operate to set the time and so much more. The movement is well made and keeps great time. They did scrimp on the band and it is not among the best, though it looks nice and is well enough made but a Chinese knock of the original. That's too bad considering the legacy of this particular model. In all fairness, I would not let that stop me from getting it. The details are as nice as the original. It is reasonably priced. Nice timepiece. Recommended. ... show more

  • Another Very Good Reissue
I bought the recently released green edition, and it’s stunning! My only true large complaint is, if you look close enough, you can see that the Bulova logo on the dial is a solid piece. All of the letters are connected, making it look a little cheap. Small complaints are that the 45mm could be a more modest 40mm. And the movement has no hacking, which is highly desired with any automatic watch. Other than that, it’s amazing!!!! Beautiful design. Solid bracelet with strong clasp. And the size of the bracelet is a smaller 20mm that tapers to 18mm making the watch look at little more tastefully sized. ... show more

  • bulova still has a lot to offer!
I am following the newly reissued archive series. So far, I praise Bulova dedication to their past and creating a bridge with current watch users/lovers, who do not see their wrist watch as a "fruity gadget". This oceanographer which was picked out of few "contenders" to be reissued, is a great watch! It "jumped" on my wrist and did not let it go! What could be a better attestation for the quality, design, looks, easy to handle for this automatic watch with decent glow and sapphire crystal. Is it worth 5 stars - absolutely! This watch will not disappoint any watch collector. I am already looking for the next Bulova archival reissue. Still a lot to offer! ... show more

  • This has always been 1 of my favorites
As you can see, I do have an original. This watch should have been Bulova's flagship watch since it was first made. I bought this watch as a refurbished for much less money. But I never thought it was worth the asking price for what movement they used. AND I MUST SAY!!! This watch looks like a new 1. THANKS to the seller!!! BULOVA. Put this watch into regular production. BUT!, Clean up the applied logo like on my original, use a milled clasp (maybe a micro adjustable, like the seadweller type) AND put a good movement in it.!!! ... show more

  • low reserve and rewind
Watch has a low reserve. Even when placed on an auto winder the watch will eventually stop within a 24 hour period. I contacted Bulova service department and they were very prompt, same day, in getting back with me with directions to send to Service with a Service Request form which Bulova sent to me. I will see how it goes from here. I have had this watch for one month. Watch looks great and I get many compliments regarding this watch. hope it lives up to Bulova reputation. ... show more

  • Underrated
Bulova’s mechanical watches are very underrated, but this watch from Bulova’s archive collection has so much going for it. It’s size feels very modern. It’s not too large but it’s also not vintage small. It has some heft to it. But where it really wins is the design. It looks good with the black dial and bezel with a hint of red accents. The bracelet is also very good quality and very comfortable. This watch has become my daily, and I have JLCs and Omegas in my collection. This one looks like it belongs! ... show more

  • Do not purchase from this dealer!
First watch I ordered didn't work so I returned it. Second watch stopped working after 4 months. Do not buy from this seller. You are better off spending the extra 200$ and get a watch from a reputable dealer. Very dissapointed considering the price tag of the watch and I thought I was actually getting a legitimate watch..... Not the case ... show more

  • Bulova Oceanographer; A Great Retro Classic to the 1970s
The Bulova Oceanographer. A Classic Retro wristwatch that takes you back to 1972, when Bulova released the first version. The stylish red and black model was a gift from my lovely wife. I love the watch, and I can say it’s a beautiful watch. I have been collecting watches for most of my life, but I can genuinely say this was a great pick by my wife, who also happens to love watches. So far, the watch has been working great; it keeps good time. I’d say it gains a minute or so in a week, nothing wrong with readjusting it a minute back. I can honestly say it is a keeper. ... show more
