Style: No Brake Light
After reading reviews, I wanted to get something to protect my rear bumper while also providing another step to access the cargo area or the roof. I'd read reviews on the ones with lights throwing codes, so I opted for this kind. It worked out perfectly since I'd already decided to put a thin blue line on it with 1/2" blue reflective tape (also purchased on Amazon). The look is distinctive while being understated (see pics). One thing I don't like is the thin rubber caps on each end that fit rather loosely on it. Don't know why they'd even be removable. They do have a rubber tab that fits into a metal bracket to keep them from flying off (see pic). Weird. Not worth knocking off a star though.

I looked through what feels like hundreds of hitch covers before deciding on this one. My bumper and bed are pretty high, even for me (I'm over 6 feet tall) on my Nissan Titan. I also *really* don't like hitting my shins on hitches. This solves both issues for a decent price. I really like how this one is round, it is nearly impossible to come up to it from the side and crack your ankle on it. If you walk directly up to it from the back and hit your ankle . . . you probably have it coming anyway for not seeing a truck in front of you. This is solid. Really solid. While I wouldn't try it since it obviously isn't the purpose, I feel relatively certain I could put my jack under this and jack up the truck with it. It is very large tubing and feels like industrial equipment. It doesn't move when you step (or jump) on it, and is great for helping to get into the truck bed. The ONLY reason I'm taking off a star (it would be a half star if I could) is that the ends of it end in soft plastic or hard rubber caps. The way they are held on is a bit of a strange design, and I find that they keep wanting to work their way off the ends. They can't fall off, but I find myself occasionally having to slip them back into place. It kind of feels like someone made a shopping cart out of steel I-beams but then put a really flimsy handle on it. That said, you can't really see the ends since they face under the bumper, and they normally look fine. I feel it is a very solid buy for the money, and I'm very happy with it.

Arrived in perfect condition, bubble wrapped and in a box, minus any dings or dents. Color is black powder coated and accents my truck perfect. Installation was a breeze by simply sliding the step into the receiver. The pictures show the step pushed into the first pilot hole and is all I need. It has three more holes if you need to have it out more. There were two plastic noise dampeners that came with the item and I placed one on the side and another at the bottom. They keep vibration to a minimum. A couple pics will show the overall length and distance from first hole. This will make deep reaching into the truck bed much easier.

First Review: This is very sturdy and looks great, works perfect for me and my F150 truck....makes my life a lot easier to step up into the truck bed when needed....however......using the LED light was very problematic. I plugged it into my 2021 F150 XLT, the truck recognized it as a trailer once plugged in. As soon as I use turn signals or step on the brake pedal, I get warnings from my truck telling me that there is a problem with the trailer turn signal bulbs not working properly. Even when touching the brake pedal. So when I went to work and came home after installing it, these warnings sounded in my truck NON STOP....since I braked often and used the turn signals. No way to shut off or over-ride. I am forced to return but do want the same one without the light bar. I am very curious if anyone else experienced this problem. I wish I could have used this one.....the brake light on the LED strip did work and it looked good and was highly visible but my truck will not accept the wiring. The Exchange: Received same item minus the LED lighting. The box was warn and torn which immediately told me that this was a USED item. Once item removed.....rust on both ends and wear and rust on center part. Are you kidding? See photos

I received it just over a week ago. It does what I bought it for & seems pretty sturdy considering how light the entire thing is. I am over 310 lbs & this holds my weight without any issue... However, all the issues I have are related to the LED light: 1) The "recess" that was pressed into the metal tube to fit the light, looks like it sheered on the left side. no issue on the right side. This was clearly not damage due to shipping, as the sheer itself has paint/powder-coating over it. As you can see it looks like it was pressed in too deep during manufacturing & the light looks like it looks skew when you view it from the top. 2) I live/work abroad & we use different electrical fittings on our vehicles. This did not come with any electrical wiring diagram. As a result, I don't know if this light actually works yet. By looking at the electrical fitting that it was supplied with, I can see that the white wire is the "ground wire", but unsure what the other 3x wires are meant to be connected to. I will search online for wiring instructions or figure it out at some point when I have time to mess around with it. 3) After just over a week of use, the glue that was used to stick the LED strip onto the metal, has started to let go on the right side. I am expecting this LED light to come loose/fall off soon. In hindsight, I should have just bought the step without the LED light.
