    • Inconsistencies across lots leave me concerned
I have purchased two packages of L-Citrulline Powder from BulkSupplements, several months apart. I was impressed with the quality of the first package, but was surprised when the second package had a completely different consistency and solubility than the first. I have always been inherently distrustful of the supplement industry due to lack of regulation and the fact that most supplements are made in China where they care little about ensuring safety and quality of ingredients (anyone else remember the melamine in milk scandal?), so it is vital to find a supplement producer that employs its own safety checks to deliver a consistently high-quality product. I thought BulkSupplements was such a supplier, but with the variation I'm seeing between two packages, now I'm not so sure. I contacted BulkSupplements shortly after opening the bag, in order to report the problem I was seeing with the product, but the customer rep I corresponded with flat out refused to address my concerns. They claim that their #1 priority is for their customers to be 100% satisfied, but this is simply not true. It's a shame because I was a repeat customer and had recommended their brand to several friends. But now, I will likely steer clear of BulkSupplements and I will warn others as well. Study after study shows that most supplements are adulterated with contaminants and don't contain what the label says it does, so customers must be vigilant to only do business with companies that stand fully behind their products and maintain the utmost commitment to quality. BulkSupplements failed to meet that bar. Note the fine print of the return policy on their website, which is not mentioned at all on the Amazon site, nor in the follow-up emails to the customer. Notice how little they stand behind opened products. This policy is the telltatle sign of a company that doesn't want to have to refund customers for products that a customer discovers are of poor quality. Stay away. ... show more

    • Dissatisfied - This product did nothing for me. I'm going back to the slightly more expensive brand that works MUCH better.
L-Citrulline is converted to L-Arginine by your body. L-Arginine improves blood flow. I was using *Kaged Muscle* L-Citrulline for several months, and it reduced my blood pressure so much, (10-15 points for both systolic and diastolic), I was able to reduce my prescription blood pressure medication. Citrulline can also act like a milder version of Viagra. It worked very well for us, without the headache and other side effects associated with the Little Blue Pill. I bought *Bulk Supplements* L-Citrulline, because it was less expensive. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! Within several days, my blood pressure readings were back up 10-15 points, and my soldier refused to come to attention, even after I doubled the dose. I'm going back to what works. ... show more

My son, who has Barth syndrome, takes l-citrulline a few times a day at the recommendation of his metabolic doctor. Previously, we ordered from a different company at a much higher price simply because the purity of that company's product had been tested. My wife, now in her 80s has been experiencing restricted blood flow resulting in fatigue and breathlessness. She uses Bulk Supplements citrulline powder and arginine powder stirred into juice to increase blood flow and she says it helps a lot. She has also realized that good hydration is very important and possibly the greatest factor in promoting improved blood circulation.     • Watermelon can do what???
My husband has been using this product for a few years to help control his high blood pressure with good results. He puts a scoop in a flavored water, and doesn't even know it's there, once a day. Our only issue is the bag that it is sent in, because it doesn't close easily and is challenging for a manly man, like my hubby, to not tip and spill. What is a wife to do? :) Easy peasy - pour the powder into the "old" plastic tub to make access simple. Success! ... show more

I have used citrulline for years, and this brand for about one year. I received a bag last month which did not have the taste or appearance of citrulline. Thought maybe it was a bad batch, so exchanged through Amazon for a new bag. New bag is exactly the same as the last. Scary to think there's no QC in place at the factory, what the heck are they putting in these bags? Returning this bag as well, switching to a different brand. BUYER BEWARE! ... show more

    • Latest batch not L-Citrulline
I’ve bought L-Citrulline numerous times in the past, including from Bulk Supplements. My latest order with them however despite being labeled as L-Citrulline, is clearly not L-citrulline and who knows what product it could be? L-Citrulline is an acid and has a very low PH, and therefore has a very sour taste to it. This latest batch is a much finer powder, not crystallized and has no sour taste at all so chemically there’s no way it could actually be L-Citrulline. It must be some other supplement, god knows what, that they mislabeled and sold as L-Citrulline. Being a Chinese company, they will not take ownership of the issue and your health cannot be trusted with a sketchy company like this who is only concerned with profits and could care less about selling people dangerous and unknown chemicals. ... show more
