Gave these as a gift to a seven year old boy who likes building things. Mom said it kept him busy for an afternoon. He needed some adult help, so I wouldn’t count on this being an independent project unless your kid is a little older, but overall I’d absolutely buy again.

My students had a great time building the cars. They were able to work collaboratively and were sooooo excited to see their cars run. After checking to ensure they were built correctly, we went outside to test them in the sun. Many of the cars did not work. They motor ran but it was as if the gear was too big and putting too much pressure on the motor to the point that it would not run. I likely will not buy this product again.

These were so disappointing. Bought them for my STEM club, middle school students. They’re super small, instructions are terrible, none of the solar panels could generate enough energy to move the cars. Would not recommend.
