tried in partially wet soil and pleasantly surprised that it worked better than expect in the wet ground depth a little hard to guess but overhaul saves a lot of time /no bending over/ to plant bulbs very pleased so far with this purchase

I found this to be a pretty useful gadget just don't expect the earth to fall out by using the handle. The metal grasping the earth doesn't open wide enough to do that for you. And you will need to carry along something like a screwdriver, a large wooden dowel, or something to push the earth out. That slows the whole process down considerably.

This tool is awesome. It is much taller than I anticipated, though I have no idea why because the listing shows videos of it being used. It is nice and sturdy and does exactly what it is intended to do. This tool made it so much easier for me to plant my bulbs into the ground. Definitely recommend if you are planting large quantities of plants or bulbs/corms/tubers.

This is built solid and is heavier duty than I was expecting so that's a good thing. I tried it various times in the yard and it takes a lot of muscle to dig a hole in the solid ground. In softer dirt and loose dirt it works great.
