  • Lantern Fly Exterminator! Very Effective, Even More Fun!!
I bought this because I wanted to reach up higher to knock out the Lantern Flies that have found their way to our trees. This launcher is amazing! I would say the max effective range is closer to five feet with a steady hand. I have been knocking them out of the tree at greater distance to step on them as well. Very effective!! Highly recommend! ... show more

  • The Best Bug Killer
I've been eyeing the Bug-A-Salt for awhile now but it was hard to justify the $40 price tag. After a fly got into our house and caused a war between my husband and I, I realized that I couldn't complain about his bug eradication techniques if I wasn't willing to fulfill my duty of participating so I went and bought the Bug-A Salt gun. Of course the first week after I got it, it rained nonstop giving us a temporary reprieve of the invasion of insects, but not allowing me to test the Bug-A Salt. Unfortunately, during that time I had to deal with the mocking of my purchase when a "fly swatter or shoe could do the same thing" from my family. But as soon as the sun started shining and those buggers came out from their hidey holes I was ready for them! I have spent the last 2 days decimating the juvenile spotted lantern fly population around our home and it is the most satisfying thing in the world. Shoes and fly swatters wouldn't have had nearly the same effect as the Bug-A-Salt. The bodies are piling up on the patio just waiting to be swept away. My husband and son have even gotten in on the fun of it and now begrudgingly admit it is worth the price. We are using table salt and it works great on the smaller insects. I have only come across 1 fly so far and it took 3 shots- 1 to stun it, 1 to kill it and 1 to send a message to the others that we were not messing around! We have already refilled it 3 times due to the amount of bugs that are invading. I may go ahead in the future and order the Bug-A-Salt salt that is a larger grain but for now table salt is doing the job. We have declared war on the insect world and are kicking their buggy butts. Not only that but Bug-A-Salt gun has given me a power I never had as I no longer cower in fear of the bugs waiting for my husband to save the day. I am now the warrior of the home and run head first into the battle with my war cry! The Bug-A-Salt gun has given me the courage to take control of my home in a way I never thought I could do. Pro's- - Absolutely addicting - Good accuracy from a distant - Uses table salt Con's- - Price - It is hard to cock the gun Final note- If you are afraid of bugs, or think getting bug guts on the bottom or shoes or dealing with a nasty fly swatter with the remnants of bugs past is just gross then this is really for you. It is similar to a nerf gun but serves a purpose and does it well. This gun will have you out hunting the bugs before they come to you. I've always said one big reason to keep a man around is for killing bugs but this gun just proves we don't need them for that anymore! ... show more

  • Great gift for husbands or sons! Fun way to get rid of house flies and outdoor pests.
This was the best birthday gift I have to my husband at his last birthday. He loved running around and shooting wasps, spiders, and flies. Super easy to put the salt in. I will say trying to cock the gun is a little hard for me (but I’m not super strong) but my husband does totally fine. There’s a nice safety button which is helpful if you have little kids around. It works well! My husband has figured out the distance he needs to incapacitate a wasp and then gets closer to finish it off. Spiders and flies are soft bodied so he shoots them a little farther away and they are dead. Sound wise it’s just a somewhat load pop but nothing that really hurts ears. ... show more

  • Fly killin made fun again
This is the coolest way to kill flys. It's so much fun, sometimes we leave the doors open. It works on those high strung grandkids with sugar highs too. Don't worry, it wont even leave a tell tale mark. Just don't shoot anyone in the eyes.

  • The funnest thing I even bought off of amazon...but you need to be strong!
Once or twice a year we experience a fly plaque, and it's terrible. I hate using the sticky traps, but sometimes it's so bad it helps to have a way to kill them inactively. So I have one of those electrocution type tennis rackets, but the slide up button has to be pressed in, and it gets heavy because of the batteries, and the batteries die fast because one must stay ready. (I wouldn't have ordinarily used all of the 'ands' in between my criticisms, but I am trying to get my annoyance across.) Fly outbreak, and the archaic fly swatter is more of a single fly target, and I'm just annoyed. I remembered a friends bragging about how awesome these salt guns are, and I decide to order one, and I wonder why I waited so long. Let's start with the bad: Maybe it's in the directions, I didn't want to read them, I wanted to kill the flies, but you have to leave enough room in the salt capacity for the apparatus to feed more salt, otherwise it only shoots air. (This took less time to figure out than reading the directions.) Since everyone must practice good gun safety, one needs to continue to apply it here so one doesn't develop poor gun safety habits. I caught myself keeping my finger on the trigger a lot at first after pumping the gun because I wanted to blast the next evil fly. I then realized that this was the worse habit to develop, and corrected it. It's not the easiest to 'reload', and this point is a negative to some, but I see it as a challenge to get stronger. Perhaps wearing a glove on the pump hand would give a better grip, and I don't think this is a good system for someone without strong grip strength. I see it as a method to get better at 'reloading', and getting stronger while having fun. Lastly there's salt everywhere, but I really got carried away. The good: This thing is so fun, I'll probably take it outside and blast flies around the chicken coop. This thing works so well, and one doesn't have to be anywhere near as close as a fly swatter or electric racket. Once aim is perfected, it's so satisfying to be able to shoot flies out of the air. Ammo is extremely cheap. (Now we know the answer to how to use up a whole container of salt in no time.) ... show more

  • Lots of fun & Easy to Use
This product is great. My wife and I are able to pick off flies, and more importantly lantern flies! It's easy to use and to fill, using basic table salt. I do recommend that you keep it inside if it is damp or really humid as the salt will clump. If it does get damp, Simply empty and dry out the salt chamber before adding fresh salt. Its lots of fun and no more pesky flies! ... show more
