    • Accessing Gear Box - Remove Eccentric Wheel
In order to gain access to the gear box for changing grease, one needs to first remove the eccentric wheel so that the 3 screws attached to the shroud can be gotten to. To remove the eccentric wheel, first insert a small screw driver into one of the small vent holes to jam the shaft to keep it from turning and then you can easily unscrew the eccentric wheel in a counter clockwise direction. This is an amazing value when you consider what comes in the kit. Unfortunately, the device itself is too heavy for using where this size of polisher would normally be used. It's not easy to control or manipulate and it's far too heavy for prolonged use. There is no hand placement recesses like in other polishers and you almost have to use the included handle, which makes it feel and act like a much bigger unit. I've never seen so many dexterity challenged people in 1 spot as here. All the complaining about the switch. Learn how to use it. I have no problem with it. I spent5 hrs today buffing out a badly scuffed up & oxidized airlite kayak.What's with all the heat problems?? I got no heat. Get your hands away from the air vents! This is a nice little unit that comes with a ton of stuff. Buy it & learn how to use it...it's east!!! ... show more

Nice little kit with many accessories. I have a Ford F250 that has the pesky scratches on the B pillars. My first time ever buffing anything, I used the softest pad with Sonax Perfect Finish and they came out great! I’m a beginner was very cautious not to make matters worse. But they look good. Took us a little heavy, but it works well. Would buy again for occasional buffing duties. ... show more

I have yet to test the machine but it looks solid. You get a lot for your money, machine, pads, apron, buffing pads, hand mit, microfiber towels, brush, 4”adapter. You can’t beat all of this. The only problem is that the machine comes well packed in its own box but for whatever reason the pads are left unprotected loosely outside of this box. During transport as others have reported they become warped due to the weight of the machine crushing them. No bueno! ... show more

This item is a clone of a 12mm long throw DA polisher by Rupes, but with a 10mm throw instead. I would imagine they're all built in the same factory overseas and rebranded by various distributors. It's heavy and well built with a powerful motor. I think it has a throw somewhere between 8-10mm, as I've seen different specs listed for this type of tool on the internet and packaging, but this is still a good size stroke for a small DA tool, but falls short of the actual Rupes, which is a true 12mm long throw that will correct defects faster. I've put a few hours on this unit and it's worked great, corrects well and finishes well. IMO having a small tool like this is very needed for doing edge-work, corners, concave/complex curves and tight areas. Foam pads included are actually quite good. I think it will hold up well.. Excellent value, given the MSRP of the tool it was designed to replicate. SPTA is becoming more of known brand out of China making good product for great prices. Overall quite happy and saved some major coin over the "real deal". Perfect for an enthusiast, but if you're a pro, I'd opt for the real thing (LHR 75e) for longevity and warranty work/support. I run this on speed 6 (max) when compounding to account for the fact that it has a shorter throw, but it cuts very well with course foam pads. I use speed 4 or 5 for finishing. have used lots of machines over my 37 years detailing. all top brands..usually buy a new buffer or 2 every 2 years..began my search and came upon this brand I knew nothing of..with great reviews and a very nice price tag. figured I'd give it a shot. to my surprise this machine is very capable of removing any swirl..blemishes..perfect for paint correction. my only issue is the on/off switch. if I were to write directions on how to turn it on. I would not know how to. its kind of a hit or miss...I think what works best is push then slide. if for not the price, I may have returned it. otherwise very happy with it. ... show more
