My hair is 1-3 cut so maybe for those with more than me on top need more hold but it's always worked for me and lasts days (when I'm out and about living life not able to wash my hair). The COVID-19 pandemic forced me to make some hard decisions, in general. As far as hair was concerned, the world event presented me with a "cut it all or let it grow" choice and "let it grow" was the path I chose. As a result, I needed a hair product that could hold the hair and not me 80's hair gel. And so I found Buck's. The Hold. Well, the hold is top-notch. It lasts all day and likely days if you're into that sort of thing. It takes very little effort to apply and distribute and then, bam, you're looking like a mildly groomed disaster survivor on Zoom or Webex or from your porch. The Scent. Yeah, it's Miracle Whip. I am not sure if it's the sweetness that harkens back memories of that abomination of sandwich spreads, but for me, the regret is unmistakeable. It's not so bad that you shouldn't use the product, but it definitely represents an opportunity for improvement for Buck's. The Value. I think the cost is fine considering the market. If you want quality hair products, you're going to pay quality prices. The Conclusion. Don't put Buck's on your sandwiches; don't put Miracle Whip in your hair.

This is by far the best styling cream I have used. It provides strong hold that seems to get stronger throughout the day. I use for both styling my mustache and my hair and it provides the hold I need for both better than I have experienced with mustache wax, pomade or gel. I wish I had had this product when I was young and had a pompadour. I also quite like the smell which is fresh and clean but not overbearing. Sometimes when I put scented product in my mustache it drives me crazy with the constant smell but this product is subtle and soon goes away. The only downside is that it is a bit on the expensive side. But when I consider that I need to use about half the amount of this cream to style my hair and stache as I would with another product it doesn't seem too bad.

I'm going to amend my review from the 1 star to 3. Look, I *like* the stuff, the hold, it works well with my hair and makes it look nice. The weirdest thing about this stuff is that it once smelled like sandalwood to me, but now smells like glue. HOWEVER --- *other people* say it smells EXTREMELY strongly of sandalwood. I have had several people tell me its amazing and some that say it is overpowering and cloying. Sometimes I will catch a very strong scent of sandalwood wafting around. It's almost like it activates the scent when it makes contact with my hair or if I muss my hair around with my hands. Anyway, I love the smell of sandalwood but this stuff is very polarizing -- either you love it or you hate it and that goes for the people around you as well. :) It's too bad because I really to like the hold and look it gives my hair.

First off, the hold is great. I'm a guy with thick and curly hair, and this helps me pull my curls into waves so nobody has to see my natural "Jewfro". I definitely think it needs at least a little water in order to disperse evenly, so I usually apply it when my hair is damp-dry (which is usually after I've towel-dried it and then let it air dry for about 5-10 minutes). The wetter your hair is when you apply it, the shinier it will be, though like most styling cremes, I find that you can keep the hold and eliminate the shine later by combing it through again after it has fully dried. As for the smell: Holy crap. I LOVE the smell of sandalwood, and this is my favorite sandalwood smell I've encountered. For those saying it doesn't smell quite like natural sandalwood, you're probably right, but I don't see it as a problem. Much like how chocolate only kind of tastes like raw cacao does, this stuff smells like they put a lot of thought into making the sandalwood smell as pleasing and appropriate for the application as possible. This stuff is pricey, but it lasts a good while. I have thick hair AND a tendency to use too much of every beauty product, and it still lasted me 3 months-- I could see it lasting 6 months or more for someone with average hair and better self-control.

After reading the product description I was stoked on this cream. Unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. I am admittedly a hair product connoisseur and expect product to live up to their claims. I was looking for a product with a strong hold and a neutral finish that could be washed out easily. The hold started to fall apart in the first hour or so. I applied more product with the same results. Also, the product gives your hair that tangled effect where when you try and restyle with your hands or a comb you just get stuck. Probably best to add water first I suppose. The finish is actually as promised along with the easy wash out but that doesn’t mean much if the style won’t hold. Just for reference my hair is about six inches on top and short on the sides. I can’t speak for their other product maybe it would work better on my hair but for me this one didn’t work out. Oh and also it does smell really good I will say that
