I own a few BSA scopes. I am very rough on my equipment. The value your getting in conjuction to the accuracy and clarity and durability of these scopes is phenomenal .

    • Bad rings
I have mounted hundreds of scopes over the last 40 years. I had an FFL and owned a gunshop which provided firearms and I served as the gunsmith for over 35 years. I find this scope to be great for most .22s. This is the second one I have purchased. The rings on the first one (several years ago) are still on another rifle and works perfectly. But the rings supplied with this scope do not work. The claws are not sharply cut. They are too blunt to seat upon the 3/8ths dovetail base. So the scope cannot be firmly mounted. ... show more

I tried a more expensive scope it was garbage. Got this the mounts are horrible replaced those, I intend to use it in 50 meter target shooting. Get one you will be pleased.

    • Nice clear optics however yardage on Turrets is EXTREMELY small and hard to read.

Optics are clear but reading the print on the yardage Turret is extremely difficult (should be 2-3 times larger) These are ridiculously small and print is dull. I have to use cheaters and a magnifying glass to read the yardage setting. If I am hunting or shooting in a low light condition you can forget about reading it and will have to make best guess. I like the scope and would pay for the additional Turrets with larger print if available. Otherwise it becomes really impractical to use if not on a range and faced with changing yardage fluctuations. ... show more

The scope arrived in excellent condition today. I have not installed it on the gun. This is my first impression, and I'm pretty good about follow-up review edits, so stay tuned.. Right off the bat, I wanted a scope with a sunshade option, because my best shooting lane faces directly West and late afternoon is my most likely time to shoot. Just a little bit of searching and I found the Barska 3" 40mm sunshade, and the 5" sunshade. They both fit the same Barska scope, but the reviews say that they also fit this BSA Sweet 22, so I ordered the 3" shade with this scope. It threaded on perfectly. Even the thread-in cap fits on the sunshade. As of day one, I am extremely satisfied with this scope, but as soon as I get it mounted, I'll be back with a full first shooting impression. The scope rings included are a little tall, so they should work with most .22's with iron sights, but this scope is BIG. It's very close to the same size as a CenterPoint 3-9x50, but the tube length is very short, so the rings are very close together. The instructions are very clear about using the different turrets for different ammo, and the proper use of the adjustments. The adjustable Objective brings my targets into crystal clear focus. Pretty easy to zero in and it's holding it. Seems sturdy enough. I haven't got to experiment with the different grain turret so can't comment on that.

Surprised to find that the end cap was bent, and cross-threaded, therefore its not usable anymore. I didn't notice that the scope rings were for dovetail, so I put on some cheap picatinny rings to use, but The windage sight adjustment is turned all the way and still can't zero(could be the cheap scope rings) The glass is clear, i'll be getting better rings and test it more. ... show more
