I don't usually do these reviews, as most of the time Amazon won't list them! Sorry I don't sugar coat reviews, if you don't like what you read don't ask me for my opinion then! First off I was a little weary about buying a BSA scope. I had purchased 1 years ago and put it on a .22 magnum, was the worst scope I ever owned, I vowed to never buy another BSA. Then I bought my .17HMR Weatherby, I knew the scope I put on it did the rifle no justice, cause the best I could get from it was 50 and 75 yard shots, I wanted something more. After doing a lot of research and read reviews the BSA 3-12x40 Sweet 17 was the option I had! Well I took the chance because of the reviews. Well I took it to the range yesterday, it sighted in very easy, started at 25yds, moved to 50yds, the moved to 100yds. Now for the BDC Turret compensator to be accurate you must zero the rifle at 100 yards, then zero the Turrets. From there all you have to do is dial it up and shoot dead on. Once I had the Scope set I dialed it up to 200 yards and shot on 4 inch steel targets. I was impressed, BSA finally has built a budget scope that actually works! The Turrets are solid clicks that you can feel when adjusted. Holds zero well adjusted back to 100 yards and shooting 1/2 to 1 inch groups. Just remember the scope is only as good as the ability of the shooter. When zeroing the scope use a bipod or a shooting bag and support the butt of the rifle to get the tightest group as possible, aim small miss small!! So its pointless to shoot at 6inch bullseyes to zero, use use 1-2 inch bullseyes on a white sheet of paper. I highly recommend this scope for the .17 HMR you won't be disappointed 7/5/2016 Took the rifle back to the range today, Amazing, dialed up 50 yards adjusted the parallax bared down on a piece of a broken clay bird, squeezed a rd off dead on! Again at 50yrds, at 100yrds, and at 200 yards I dialed it up, adjusted the parallax bam dead on!! The scope is absolutely amazing. Shooting a 1/4 of a Clay bird at 200 yrds is not a easy shot, but I was doing it, not once but 3 times. I shot 3 round groups 1 inch from 25 yards out to 200 yards!! All I can say is AWESOME, ... show more

After reading many reviews, I decided to purchase this scope for my Savage model 93 because it has fully muti-coated lenses for a reasonable price. I received it and on inspection I was very impressed with the fit and finish of this product! Lenses are clear and bright and all in all, very well constructed. Once the scope was mounted, it was time to sight it in and see if my hard earned money was well invested.All i can say is dead on after the 3rd shot! Then it was time to try out the multi- grain turret system which will compensate for 17 or 20 grain bullet weights without changing to a different turret. Dead on at 100 yrds, 125yrds, 150 yrds, and 200 yrds!!! This scope is the ticket for the .17 HMR!!! Shoots like a laser with this scope!! ... show more

I am on my 3rd scope. The first scope the lens caps could not be removed so I returned it to Amazon. Second scope the lens caps were also almost impossible to remove. The bullet compensator completely failed on it. Had to return it to BSA. I had to pay postage to return it. Then BSA charged me postage to get 3rd scope. Do not buy. ... show more
