The metal is very thick and sturdy. Holds tons of stuff and seems very secure. However, the screws/anchors that come with it break/bend easily. I would definitely consider grabbing 2 high quality bolts/screws from the hardware store if you are planning on really loading this thing up with a lot of weight.
