  • Presser foot comes off easily in the middle of sewing!
My main complaint is that the presser foot does not stay securely attached while sewing.

  • Best 1/4" seam foot for quilting
Love this foot - it's my go-to for a 1/4" seam. Made by Brother for my Brother machines.

  • I love this foot!!
I am sitting here in front of my Brother XR9500PRW sewing machine smiling ear to ear! I just started a new quilt (my second ever) and, after cutting all of the pieces meticulously, I sewed the first three pieces together with the default presser foot. I thought, “I can do a 1/4 inch seam; no problem.” Wrong! After three pieces, my first block was already off by about 1/4 inch. *sigh* So, Friday night, I placed my order for this foot. It arrived this morning (Sunday), and after 20 minutes of reading the instructions and installing the foot (most of the time was actually spent figuring out how to set my default needle position to center), I pieced a different set of those three original pieces together. Perfect 1/4 inch seams!! In fact, despite some of the reviews I read before purchasing, I found that this foot makes a scant 1/4 inch seam, so the end result really is a perfect 1/4 inch seam!! I’ve attached a picture of my first attempt compared to my second using this foot. (The white sashing is supposed to be 1/2 inch.) I could not be more pleased! ... show more

  • Quarter inch sewing foot
I am a long time quilter and garment maker. Having this quarter inch foot is a no brainer. It makes for fast and easy sewing with accuracy.

  • Fits my Brother LX3817A
I bought a super cheap Brother sewing machine, really just to make masks for this stupid pandemic. I am not an experienced sewer and needed a 1/4 inch presser foot because without following the edge I'm all over the place and the one that comes with the machine is 1/2 inch. My machine was not listed in the models this would fit, but it fits perfectly fine and was super cheap. I nearly cancelled the order due to the extended shipping time, but I'm glad I wasn't able to do it. It has made it so much easier on me! ... show more

  • Simple and plain but works perfectly!
I’ve tried quite a few 1/4” feet and there was always something not quite right about them. This one is perfect! Easy to tell where the 1/4” line is. Sits flat against the fabric. Very happy with my purchase.

  • Don't Waste Your Money
This is a very poorly designed foot. I do not believe the person who designed it has ever pieced fabric with a 1/4" seam, the wording on the excellent instructions would tend to confirm my theory. This foot has markings which might be useful for piecing set in or "Y" seams although in my experience sewers who are willing to tackle them are very well able to gauge their stopping distance. I gave the foot two stars instead of one because (a) it is well made and (b) the small needle hole is well thought out for preventing the fabric being pulled up or bunching. If you look at my photo of the foot, you will see it is notched on the right side. The green arrow is where the edge of the fabric needs to go to achieve a 1/4" seam, not the outer edge of the foot. Once the fabric has passed under the foot you are guessing where it is, unless you have X-ray eyes you can't see it. This results in wandering seams and frustration. Plus unpicking. The second photo shows this. Unpicking will happen. I am not a novice quilter. I usually use a vintage Singer 15. I rarely have problems with my seam allowance. I bought the Brother CS 6000i because I needed a zig-zag stitching machine for stretchy fabric garment construction and the price was awesome. It is a wonderful little machine, came with many accessories but unless and until they produce or I find a better piecing foot I probably will not piece with it. ... show more
