    • Shuts out background noise without blasting everyone else
I have trouble hearing dialogue when any other living creatures are around. These keep me from jacking the volume up as high as it will go & still having to wind back. TV volume can be controlled separately, which is perfect. I think I may have to buy these for every TV in the house

Bought these for my elderly father. We couldn’t get them to sync with the smart tv. The date had passed for returning them. Guess that’s the downside of ordering on line!

    • Unresolved problem of delayed audio
I had Brookstone wireless TV headphone for years. That old one had great sound quality and no delay in receiving sound as soon as the TV was turned on. I brought this to replace my old one, which broke after long time of use. While this new one has quite acceptable sound quality and comfort, I have come to dislike this product for one reason. After the TV is turned on, the sound does not come through immediately like the old one. I have to wait anywhere from one to two whole minutes before the headphone light flashes to indicate pairing in progress. After that pairing, it starts playing sound. I have to fiddle with its headphone controls before it successfully pairs. These are fully charged devices - both the base and the headphone. Why should the pairing process be required every time I want to use it? Do any other users experience this issue? If so, how have you been resolving it? Many thanks in advance for any suggestions. The seller even replaced it once for me, but the replaced unit has the same problem, leading me to think that its the product itself with this problem. I am presuming this must be a small business, so I don't want them to keep recurring postage expenses, so I am not asking for any further replacements, but i can't honestly say i am happy with this product. While I am not leaving any review/feedback on seller, the product I consider less than what I feel Brookstone quality is famous for. ... show more

    • ON/OFF and Volume Controls Hard to Use
The main reason I did not give a higher rating is because the controls on the back of the right earcup are very difficult to use in the dark. The sound quality is actually pretty good for the price. I purchased this headphone to use at night in bed to not disturb sleeping spouse while I watch TV. The problem is that the control buttons are too close to each other and all on the same earcup. If you can't hear sound, you are not sure if it's just muted, or set too low or even if it's turned off. Good luck in the dark to get the correct button push combinations in the correct order to figure it out. They should have put the power on/off button in a different place, maybe on the other earcup. Also you have to push and hold the on/off button for a number of seconds before it responds. That should not be necessary, and even when you get it to turn on, there is a long delay before the sound actually starts transmitting from the base unit. It's all too "tricky". Also, make sure you set your TV's digital optical output audio format to PCM for these headphones to work. I think you will have fewer problems if you use these headphones on your main TV with adequate lighting to manage the controls, but not for bedtime use in the dark. ... show more
