No need to get the plastic version when this version exists. *My personal experience after 2 weeks* Insulation on this bad boy is legitimate. I’ll pour fridge cold water into before bed and keep it by my bed side and some nights I don’t need water and it’ll be frigid cold 8-10 hours later and it’s rated for 24hr insulation. No need for ice. Water only. Make sure to keep track of when you start using your filter and replace at 60 days. When you first get a new filter, run lukewarm water gently through it for a least a couple mins, nothing too long. Clean your gear every couple days. It’s nice you have clean things and hygiene is also vitality. I’ll take my filter out and place it on paper towels, standing up to drain while I use soap and water and clean everything else, especially the mouth piece and cap because I’ve seen other reviews of mold build up but that has to be extreme cases, so clean every couple days or whatever; just make sure to clean often. Be careful with the cap. It’s a solid plastic cap, however the spring hinge is also plastic, so I would absolutely advised against any force exerted over a long period of time on the handle to get you more life out of it. I only handle this entire container by picking it up by the sides only; never touch the lid unless I press the button to open. I also use my pointer finger to place behind the cap on the hinge, so when the cap snaps back on open, I reduce the swing angle to again conserve on longevity. If you start swinging this thing around solely by the handle, I don’t see it lasting long. Buy this thing. It’s awesome, water is always cool and crisp, and it’s actually so fun to use and maintain this thing that I been drinking so much more water. 9/10 - would be perfect score, but more development is needed on the cap because a plastic hinge isn’t sturdy and lasting in my opinion. ... show more

I am obsessed with drinking water & recently moved into a new apartment. I moved from the mountains to the city & was told not to trust city tap water but was not interested in purchasing a whole water filter. After some research, I found this water bottle! So far it has worked great & I have had it for almost a month. It's easy to assemble & clean (at least for me so far) & I have yet to dent it despite how clumsy I am. I like the lid system, it is easy to open & close & I have never had a spill. Stickers apply nicely, which I know is not important to everyone but I figured I'd mention it. There is a definite difference in taste between my tap water on its own & my tap water when I drink it from the bottle. You do have to purchase new filters every so often (depending on how much water you drink), but in my opinion, it is worth it. ... show more

I am very sensitive to "off" tastes in water and avoid drinking tap water. My last bottle was plastic which made it light to carry, but in the summer months, I could brew a cup of tea using the water from my flask. Very unpleasant to drink and the flask developed mold and slime quite often. After accidentally freezing my last flask, I decided to invest in a Brita. I have had the flask for a few weeks and couldn't be happier. Although the flask is a little heavier, my water tastes pure and keeps perfectly chilled for hours. In fact, I made the mistake of adding crushed ice to keep my water cool and had to add warm water to melt the ice after four hours! The lid and mouthpiece are dishwasher safe (but just remember to remove the filter). The water tends to flow out of the filter so you will have to suck a little harder when the water level is low. This is a very minor quibble for me but can be an issue for someone who has difficulty drinking through straws. Also, the exterior finish scuffs easily. My flask is only in my bag or on my table and I noticed minor scratches. Again, a minor quibble for me, but may be important to others. Overall, I highly recommend this bottle if you hate any kind of "off" taste in your water and are diva enough to only drink water when it is perfectly chilled. You will not be disappointed. I ordered another 20 oz and plan to purchase the larger version for warm-weather months. ... show more

I'm on the road a lot for work. I wanted something I could take with me and fill up and drink even if the water quality was sketchy and not have to spend a bunch on bottle water. This works perfectly. Its base is just the right size for most of the cupholders of the various rentals I've been in. However doesn't fit in the forklift cupholder. Can't knock it for that though. This thing is a bit on the heavy side. Im pretty sure you can use it as a self defense weapon vs a puma if needed. Then take a nice refreshing drink of water afterwards. Only regret is I didn't get the large size as I go through water quickly. ... show more

I like this. I use it with the Ulla Smart Hydration Reminder to Drink More Water. It's simple to use. I put a couple of ice cubes in before filling with water from my water faucet. Wish it was a little easier to clean. As far as I can tell, there's no really simple way to clean the "straw". Also wish it was a bit thinner. I got this water bottle as a small gift for my boyfriend’s birthday. He only drinks filtered water and typically uses the big brita water jug to filter the water he drinks. He loves having the bottle for the gym or when he is traveling. The only downsize is that this water bottle doesn’t fit in my car cup holders, but that’s expected with a 30+ ounce water bottle. The straw filter works great and is easy to use and the bottle is also easy to refill. I recommend cleaning out the straw often and replacing it every month or so for the best filtration.
