The extra pieces are fantastic. Especially the rare connectors that assist in putting together the main pieces. The challenge at first is that these pieces are not perfect fits but require a lot of use before they fit with existing (used) wooden pieces.

I thought BRIO was the best you can get. I played with some of their tracks at my nephews house and loved how smooth they felt. I purchased a train table from a different brand and wanted to add some higher quality tracks to the mix, so I purchased this set. Packaging looked great, box was colorful and all the tracks were wrapped in a bag. Then I took them out, all of the curved peices are very light and very rough. They feel just like the cheaper ones I already own. They are not smooth. See my photos, the wood is fuzzy. It's not sanded very well. The straight peices were nicer, they are heavier and more sanded down with a smooth glossy feel. ... show more

Works as intended. But it is overpriced for what it is. You have a lot of cheaper options that are just as good. Don’t get me wrong I love Brio trains and engines, but the tracks are generic at best.
