Straight out of the box this knife is scary-sharp. I don't want a knife to be any sharper than it needs to be to slice through a tomato skin, so I didn't need to sharpen it for two months. It retains its edge pretty well! The included sharpener works great.

The media could not be loaded. I just received this set, and I was so impressed with it, I ordered another set that day. Both sets arrived the very next day. What did I like about it? In short-Everything. It came the very next day, it was packaged very well. The well-made box was equally attractive so much that I intend on keeping them in the box while not in use. It is also a safety precaution, because as it sits in the box, it is very secure in that the slots where it sits. They do not lay loosely; therefore, there is little danger of them falling out as we open the box to use. In addition it makes keeping track of them a little easier, because we can see at a glance they are all there when we store them out of the way. Secondly one could not look at the knives without noticing how attractive they appear. You will be proud to use them when guests are over. I like very much the contours. Ergonomically designed and attractive wooden handles makes it easy to look at. Finally the well balanced knives are VERY sharp right out the box. I don't think I have had a sharper knife ever. (Including in the old neighborhood 😄) Finally the knives felt solid. Lots of attention to every detail is my impression. Kudos to the manufacturer! Finally the easiest statement of the day for me is this: I wholeheartedly recommend this set to anyone who needs/wants a good knife for food preparation. ... show more

These knives are my go to kitchen knives. They are sharp and easy to clean. I have bought so many knife sets that cone with a bock of wood to store them in and non were as sharp as these!!! I'll let you all know how they hold up after a year or so.
