I needed a hammock for my stand to replace a light nylon one that I apparently found such a good place for over the winter, that I hid it from myself. :/ I liked that this one was cotton but still seemed to pack down small. I got it yesterday, and when I opened the box, I was hit with a musty smell and the hammock inside the package was damp (the box was perfectly dry, and it was clear it had been packed up damp). If it had been for inside my house, I definitely would have returned it, but since it was going right out into the sun, I hoped it would be ok. After getting rained on last night and drying out in the sun all day, I am pleased that it now smells fine. Aside from that, it is a great little hammock. I got the multi-colored stripes, and the colors are great and it is very cute in my yard. I love the cotton fabric--sturdy but not too bulky, and it does pack up pretty small into a nice little matching bag. It is definitely not large, but the measurements in the description are accurate. It's good for one person. Very happy now that it no longer smells like mold. ... show more

I have the heavy-duty, large size model, which is made from thick canvas, with plenty of rope supports. I wouldn't hesitate to trust it with its rated weight. My sole complaint is that the carabiners included for hanging are a little too small for the thick rope eyes at the end. They fit, but it's a little challenging to get them in and especially out, when the gate tends to snag on individual threads. It'll probably be worth the $8 it'll cost for a pair of larger clips. ... show more

We change the hammocks every 2 years since the weather and the elements (here in Illinois) are pretty harsh. This has withstood some rains and some heat and had somehow managed to hold its colours. Thr earlier one that came with thr hammock did not so we purchased this and for three money this serves us well. Change your hammock every 2 years or the third year the fall (hammocks tear naturally over time and strands get weaker) and resulting doctor's visit will end up costing more. ... show more

It is definitely only for one person. Not much room for anything else. But I don't mind that so much. It is sooo stretchy. Too stretchy. I can hang it as taught as possible and it basically stretches in a v 4 feet to the ground. It's comfy, but not for long. Needs a tighter weave.
