I do wish I had saved money and purchased one of these ages ago. What a save on time and temper to not have to continue changing little blades in little containers and then trying to insert them into their razor! Always used Remington triple foils for decades but tried this razor and am glad I did. It’s been about a year and it’s just starting to not cut as well/as close as it did new. Charges quickly and lasts for a couple weeks if you shave once a day. The attachment is great as well. The carry pouch you can’t get but the razor to fit in it, I don’t use it anyway so for me it’s a non-issue. I would buy again. ... show more

I bought this for my son who is 15 and just isn't comfortable with a regular disposable razor for whatever reason. He's also 15, so he could just be lazy. Anyway, I tried the shaver out a couple of times so I could show him how to use it. This is where the first star was lost. The "instruction" material that comes in the package is completely useless. For the booklets, the only words are the typical warnings and "safety" information that I'm sure was only included because their lawyers told them to put it in there. Other than that, there's nothing but pictures and they're not really all that intuitive. So, I did what any modern era person would do and went to the website. There are lots of articles on how to create different facial hair styles, but nothing at all helpful on how to use or maintain this product. As to the actual performance of the product, once you figure out how to use it (right pressure, correct angle, stretch your skin, go slow, etc) it gives a decent shave. I can typically skip a day of shaving with a regular bladed razor and this shaver produces similar results. If there is anything more than a 5 o'clock shadow on your face, this shaver struggles. So, anyone who wants to go from beard to smooth is going to have to take an extra step and trim down the beard to a shadow length. I also discovered that even though it says "wet or dry," it works MUCH better dry. My son tried it after a shower and the shaver just would not move across his skin. The next time he tried it before his shower and had a much less frustrating experience. I haven't tried it with any sort of shave gel or shaving cream. The battery life seems to be OK. We've had it for about a month and used it maybe 10 times without having to recharge. Apparently the station that came in the package will charge and clean the device. But, I've already talked about how horrible the instructions are for that, so, good luck. Overall, I suppose it does as good of a job as any other electric shaver I've ever used. I think $130 is a bit much for the product itself, even with all the "extras" included. It's not really worth the time and effort to return it and try something else, so, we are going to keep it. Based on this product experience, I would not buy another product from Braun, but that is not Amazon's fault. ... show more

I've used the same Remington F5-5800 since 2014. It was time for new blades so I thought I'd do a total upgrade. I'd searched reviews and settle on the Braun series 6. Right out of the box I thought, wow, have I been missing out! I loved the light weight, the shape, and it whipped through the light stubble I had that day. Three months later, I'm disappointed. If you skip a day of shaving or, heaven forbid, two days or more, you're in for a splotchy, finicky shave at best. Your face must be prepped and preened to keep the Braun from pulling hairs rather than cutting them. Hairs that lay close to my face regularly survived the blade's assault; especially on my neck. I don't even have what one would consider a tough heavy beard; I can't image using this Braun on a real beard. Sad, I really wanted to love it. So, today I bought a new Remington F5-5800. It mows through heavy growth and cuts errant hairs without a second thought. Yes, it's heavy and bulkier and not as pretty but I need a reliable shaver that needs no fuss and doesn't pull hairs. ... show more

Good for coarse hair, but leaves trails behind. I’ve had a few of these and they are best at removing the coarse stuff but don’t get super close.
