I ordered this brake caliper compression tool for brake pad replacement on our family’s older SUV. It came with things including the two different-sized steel plates and the hooks for added safety. The size fit as it said. Function wise, the rubber handle has a good grip, and the ratcheting mechanism felt solid. I did run into a bit of a learning curve. These tool did help me press the piston back in without too much strain. It’s easier than trying to do it with a C-clamp. Just be ready to spend a little time learning how it works before jumping straight into your brake job.

This tool feels very strong and solid in the hand. The handle is made of sturdy metal with a red finish that looks nice and also helps with grip. It’s smooth but not slippery, and the shape makes it easy to hold while using force. The main plates are made from thick steel, and they feel heavy and tough. They don’t flex or shift when you press them against the brake calipers. The extra plates are also solid steel, and they line up well with the rest of the tool. Just used this caliper compression tool on the brakes on my truck, and I'm blown away. The ratchet is smooth—no wrestling with pistons. Pushed back dual pistons single-handed without issue. The flip switch on the ratchet is stupid simple; reversed direction instantly in the middle of the job.The alloy steel did not flex under pressure, and the non-slip grips saved my knuckles. Fit my truck's large calipers perfectly with the wide plate . The adjustable stretch range fit everything without extra adapters. Worth it.
