Perfect tool for dual, and quad piston brake calipers. Doesn't fit most rear calipers though, very durable and easy to use. Button magnets I did upgrade due to the original ones being weak. Plates fall of too easy and I did lose all of them after a few drops.

It is an amazing tool that makes compressing the calipers a lot easier than the old way. That said...this particular product is a little finicky and hard to work with. The ratcheting is hit and miss. You have to expand it and then force into the caliper for it to grab and spread. Buy a tool LIKE this one...but not this exact one. It is easier to use than a C-clamp, but much harder than other ones available.

I bought this brake caliper compression tool to help with rotating brake pads on my truck and it made the job WAY easier than struggling with a C-clamp or screwdriver. The ratcheting action is super smooth and lets you compress pistons without fumbling around, especially on those tighter caliper setups. The extra plates and hooks are nice touches — they really help keep everything in place while you work. Build quality feels solid for the price. It’s not some giant heavy-duty shop tool, but for occasional brake jobs at home it’s more than strong enough and didn’t bend or flex on me. The handles grip well even with greasy hands, and I finished the job quicker than I expected. The only minor downside is it’s a bit bulky to store in a small tool bag, but honestly that’s a tiny thing compared to what it does. If you’re doing brake work at home and don’t want to fight pistons with a pry bar, this thing is worth grabbing.

Seems to be built well enough. It has some heft to it so thats a good sign in my book. Its simple enough to use and portable. The included hooks are also a plus. If you are worried about the durability I would just say treat them with care and they will take care of you. Cost effective if you ask me.

Basic caliper compression tool, does the job, perfect for the value minded DIY grease monkey. If I use it more than 3 times in my lifetime, I'll give it 5 stars, but it gets 4 for just not being pro quality. But if you're just looking for something a step above C clamps, this is it. The extra caliper hangers work to keep the strain off the flex lines.
