I love this amp!
1-year update: everything is still working completely without problems. Still impressed with the sound quality and value. Don’t hesitate if you’re on the fence! Unless you have inefficient speakers, say under 90 db, that require lots of power, this will do the job. Original review: Very pleased with this amp! There was a noticeable improvement in detail, sound stage and tonality over my solid state amp. I am pleasantly surprised at how satisfying the overall performance is on a wide range of music. Some cuts that were previously edgy and harsh were smooth as glass with the MT-34 along with improvement in clarity. I’m thinking of the louder section Adele’s “Hello”. The unit was double boxed with the tubes lettered to match their individual sockets and well protected in cartons packed into the tube cage. Nice job. Everything was clean, fingerprint free and showed a high build quality. Switches all have a nice functional feel, but not luxurious. You won’t mistake it for a Luxman but it is gorgeous to look at in its own right. The Amazon pictures don’t quite do it justice. I don’t have any downsides to mention. At the moment there is a faint 120hz ground loop to sort out, even though it’s not detectable during playback. I don’t know the cause, so I’ll withhold blaming it on the MT-34. Edit: Update! The hum I experienced was from a nearby PC. Moved the PC, the noise disappeared. It also puts out more heat than I expected. I suppose all tube amps do. I have no reservations recommending the MT-34 if you have moderately efficient speakers. I’m using them with very efficient Crites Cornscalas similar to Klipsch Cornwalls and the amp is more than powerful enough to listen at live performance levels on most recordings including orchestral, rock, jazz, country. It’s also a great match sonically with horn midrange and highs like the Klipsch while delivering full, tight bass in the bargain. If you’re on the fence deciding, I’d say go for it! Excellent product.

Great Value
The Good- First, the sheer weight of this thing is impressive. There seems to be no cost cutting on the materials used, because it is heavy duty. Second, it is actually quite handsome, even to the point where my wife thought it looked nice (which never happens on audio gear). A cage is included and it looks great, as well. Assembly was simply a matter of placing the tubes. All tubes were labeled by hand so it was easy to know where everything went. I hooked my Bowers & Wilkins 606 bookshelfs up started the tube run-in process. I had probably 10 hours on them, before really auditioning them, and the tubes really do need time to fully bloom their sound. The sound is incredible for this price point. The EL34's are about as legit as a tube as it comes, as this is what so many guitarists use in their maps- and I love that. had I kept this amp, I am sure the sound would have gotten even better over the next 20 hours-50 hours. Triode mode sounds really nice, but it does cut doen the power output, so it is a little better for lower volume levels. The not so good- You need efficient speakers for this amp. My Bowers sounded good, but as I turned up the volume I could hear where it just didn't have enough juice for my less efficient speakers. If your speakers have a 90+ sensitivity, this would be fantastic. Next, microphonics in the tubes is a bit of an issue as it adds some noise to the sound, most noticeable in the upper midrange on upbeat rock songs. HOWEVER, I did have my speakers on the chest of drawers with this amp. So, I am sure some some vibration isolator pads on the speakers, and perhaps this amp, would have gone a long way to fix it. If that doesn't eliminate it, then you may want to roll some other tubes in that might fit tighter and/or have thicker glass. Conclusion- I was impressed enough to purchase the next step up from this (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L6DDYPP/, on order), because I believe it will power my speakers sufficiently. I already bought some cheap isolation feet for my speakers to combat the microphonic noise https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075KK8WXM/. IF I still have noise, I will buy some Gold Lion Pre-amp tubes, and I think that will eliminate it entirely (plus Gold Lions are just fantastic).

Excellent for all music genres.
Excellent! Paired this with Klipsh RP600m bookshelf speakers and the sound is awesome! Best receiver I have ever had. The stock tubes sounded very good, no issue, but I rolled new ones to open it up. The vendor helped me identify which tubes are supported. Build quality is top notch, the unit is super heavy and well made and the packaging was well done. Music is crystal clear. I listen to all genres and the tubes and push/pull match well for any genre from Jazz, country, blues, R&B to hard rock or heavy metal. No regrets. Get good cables, Worlds Best Cables on Amazon are very good.

Tubes really do sound different!
I had recently become curious about tube amps and began doing a bit of research. After watching audiofile videos and reading reviews, it seemed that these chinese amps were gaining respect and were seen as good value. I had been quite happy with my Marantz SR 5013 AV Receiver. Especially the features and connectivity it provides. The Marantz now serves as pre-amp to the tube amp. I am powering a pair of Klipsch RP-600M speakers and an old Teledyne sub-woofer. I recieved my amp yesterday. The packaging was very solid with double boxes and great protection of the amp and tubes. Setup was easy as the tubes were hand labeled with their respective sockets. Once I got it up and running, I could not make myself go to bed until 1 am! I am told that the tube sound improves over a burn-in period of about 100 hours. It is fine now. We'll see. What is most striking is the sound stage. Vocals seem to be coming from a very distinct location between the speakers. Some instruments sound like they are coming from beyond the width of the speakers. The speakers sonically disappear and I find myself emerged like never before. As expected, the tubes provide a warmer, rounded-off sound in comparison to the Marantz solid state, which has much more defined high end. Both are wonderful to listen to but the tube amp is not as fatiguing as the solid state amp can be sometimes. All in all, a wonderful product that has eliminated my concern over its manufacturing orgins.

Great sound and great customer service!
This is great tube amp. The sound stage is wide and deep, the highs are airy, mids is rich and warm, and the bass is defined. I had this amp for about three months when the right channel started to crack and the volume was soft and unequal the the left. I contacted the seller and they emailed a few solutions with tube swapping to see if the sound changed. No luck there. So the seller had me box it back up for repair and replacement. The Tube store is very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Now my amp is going strong again and beautiful see and hear. Kudos to the seller

GREAT AMP FOR THE MONEY
I have owned this amp for three years (in May 2024). The sound quality great I decided about 5 years ago to get back into vinyl records. I up graded my turntable to analog, and only run the vinyl through my old Fisher tower (4" tall) (duel 10" woofers, single 6" mid, single 3" tweeter) speakers from the mid 80's. Some will say these are terrible speakers, but every individual has their own listening preferences. Todays smaller speakers are too harsh for me, and I tire of the sound easily. My Fisher speakers I can listen to for days on end, and because of this amplifier, I close my eyes, and just get lost in the artist and music. And if we are truthful, isn't that what it is all about? The sounds blends in so well that you hear the music, not the speakers. Live albums you can hear the fingers moving across the frets of the guitar neck, and the faint inhale before the next line is sung... Listening to Coltrane, Davis, or Patterson give new life to old recordings. I get lost in the music no matter who the artist is. It is a moving experience. I have not had any issues with the amp or the tubes. It took around 100 hours for the tubes to really break-in, and I now have close to 500 hours on the amp, and the sound quality only gets better with time. I would buy this amp again without question.

Bad quality parts. Mine arrived DOA.
I bought this for a second system. I figured it would be a cool little amp for my Klipsch Heresy IV. It arrived, nicely packaged. No ship damage. Everything was packaged securely and safely. I have 30 years experience with tube amps and know there are some bargains out there with some of these amps that are made in China. I own one other one that has been fantastic. (Willsenton R8) - this amp… tubes lit up, amp warmed up but no sound whatsoever from my speakers other than a crackling sound. The unit had a bad hum/buzz as well. No music was to be heard from this amp for me, as something was off. Could have been a bad fuse perhaps but they do not send any spares, so no idea. The RCA inputs were of cheap quality and felt as if they were going to pull out from the amp itself. The knobs brought forth the crackle sound when turned and as impressive as the amp looks, this is made with cheap parts to keep the cost down. That’s ok if the amp works for a year or two but not when it arrives DOA. Just be cautious as you may get a good one but you may also get a bad one. Good thing is that it’s returnable to Amazon, and that’s what I have done. Good luck.

Shorted out within 3 weeks
I wanted to like this amp - I purchased it after my old Gemtune developed a faulty transistor. This unit is big and heavy, and comes with standard PS Vane tubes. The sound was a bit clipped at higher volume but it may have been my speakers. Regardless, after about 3 weeks (total usage <6 hours), the unit suddenly crackled loudly during use and one of the tubes began sparking. I quickly turned it off and let it cool, checked the tubes with a voltmeter, etc. Turned it back on and it did it again. I'm lucky it didn't start my house on fire. Would not recommend due to quality control - whether the tubes they sent were defective or the unit is itself damaged, look elsewhere.
