For the current price of less than $25, this is probably the best buy for some basic but decent pickleball paddles on Amazon. The listing is a bit lacking in information so I've included measurements. The measurements for these paddles are about: 16 inches from the bottom of the handle to the top of the paddle 7.75 inches wide 5 inch handle length I'm not exactly sure how the thickness of paddle is measured but I'd guess these are about 11-12mm thick One paddle weighed 224 grams and the other weighed 221 grams. That is about 7.9 ounces. In the text of this product listing it says these paddles are smooth but in one of the graphics, it says they have a textured surface. I was hoping they had a textured surface but the surface seems perfectly smooth to me. There is no grit on it anyway. The grips on these paddles are as good as most any other paddle I've used. They are a bit ribbed and feel a little sticky like the Joola grips. I like these grips better than those on the PCKL paddles and even some of the Franklin paddles but not as good as the grips on the more expensive Joola paddles. The balls are outdoor balls and they seem OK but I'd probably buy some Franklin balls instead of or as a backup for the balls that come with this set. This paddle performs about the same as most cheaper paddles. It is really thin so the ball flies off of it pretty hard. When I say it flies off the paddle pretty hard, that is in comparison to something like a Joola Hyperion 16mm or a Franklin 16mm paddle. Those both cost more than $100 for one paddle. Compared to other non wooden or non aluminum paddles in this price range, the way the ball comes off the paddle is probably about the same as any other paddle. Since there is no texture that I could feel on the paddle, these are not very good spin paddles. They are also not great for control and soft shots at the net. For anyone just starting out in pickleball, these paddles will work just fine. This is a great set to get you out on the court and start playing. It would make a nice inexpensive gift for someone who has never played pickleball and wants to give it a try. It's not junk, it is not great but it is currently a good value. I'll keep these around to loan to other people and may buy another set to donate to the local community center so they have a couple basic paddles to loan out for anyone who shows up and doesn't have a paddle to use. These do not appear to be USA Pickleball approved paddles. The surface, weight and dimensions look to me to be within the required measurements that would be approved. If you are going to be playing in a tournament that requires approved paddles you probably won't be able to use these. For casual play on a court they are fine. Finally, the packaging says these come with a 3 year warranty. A lot of high end paddles come with a 1 year warranty. That should mean that these will last a while.
