The paddle arrived with the grip protector removed but in the box. Grip was beat up and top band torn. It's still functional and I love the paddle but I would expect that if I pay $200 for a brand new paddle, it should arrive in mint condition. I could have went through the hassle of returning but I didn't want to wait to use it and I live mainly across the border in MX so it would have been extra hassle to make multiple trips to US. I sent a message directly to the seller asking if they could just send a replacement grip. No response. Not sure if it's an Amazon issue or a seller issue but otherwise I love the paddle. ... show more

I used an older model of the Gearbox that was 11mm and got used to the thin profile and “hard” feel. I wanted more feel and tried some of the more popular 16mm paddles like Joola. They are felt too thick. The CX 14E is a perfect compromise. It gives that classic Gearbox feel in a thin-ish profile, but adds great touch. Sweet spot is large as well. Highly recommend for Gearbox fans. But if you use another type like Joola or Gamma, etc, try the demo program on Gesrbox website. For 20 bucks, they ship you up to 4 demos for a week. ... show more

I bought the cx14E in June of 2022. I noticed wear on the rim of the paddle about 6 months later. Not knowing the durability but knowing about the 1 year warranty I sent it to gearbox and they replaced it even though it was from my own wear and tear. Thanks Gearbox! I highly recommend the protective tape that is offered! Don’t play on a clay court without it! ... show more

Prompt service. Packaged well. And the paddle is a step up for me in terms of adding length to the reach and more spin potential due to the surface. I used the CX5 and liked it a lot for its compact shape and quickness at the net. But it cracked at the edges in three spots which made it seem softer after 3 years of active play 3-5 hours five days a week. I'm a power player currently using the Gamma Compass LH. The Gearbox felt soft out of the box. Does not suit my game. I believe that Pickleball will eventually evolve into a power game.
