Let me start off by saying that I'm about 6'1", and most shorts I've tried in the past are just plain too short for my taste. If I bend or stoop, other shorts would ride up way too high for my comfort, and make me feel like I was wearing 70's gym shorts or something! These shorts, however, are PERFECT! I love them in every way. They are long, come nicely below my knees, and have tons of pockets. I own a home/office technology company and install a variety of things every day, yet I've never taken to wearing tool belts - instead I prefer a tool bag, and to keep most frequently used tools in my pockets. These shorts are great for that, the variety and sizes of pockets are perfect for my daily work. They are also great for casual bike rides, hiking, etc. I haven't had them all that long, but they feel durable, they don't feel cheaply made, they have a nice thick fabric, good stitching, and I love the colors. It's rare that I find a pair of shorts that I like, but these are keepers! I'm going to order several more pairs. Buy these shorts, you won't be sorry! I am 6'1" 320lb. I usually try to buy Wrangler because of the high rise measurement and belt loops close to zipper. Guys with big bellies hate wide spaced belt loops in front because they let the belt ride up on our belly. This is my 1st Boulder Creek shorts and I am very impressed. They are well made with plenty of crotch depth (rise) and the fit is true on the waist. I will definitely add Boulder Creek to my favorite options. I would like to see the belt loops a little closer in front but these are tolerable. ... show more

I bought these because summer is around the corner and I wanted some cargo shorts that fit me. These are absolutely huge! If I wear them at my hips they go down to the tops of my ankles and I'm 6'0"! They are surprisingly comfortable and they feel durable, but one of my biggest issues is the pockets. From the pictures it looks like there are five pockets on the legs not counting back pockets. The two pockets on the thighs are literally sewn right to that seam. There's no space at all for anything of substantial size. At best you could throw a handful of quarters into one. The velcro on these shorts is a bit stiff for my liking, it's almost a struggle to get the pockets open. ... show more

Absolutely in love with these pants. DH is very big, very tall man who works a very hard job. He goes through shorts quickly because they tear. We wanted to order something that would be perfect for him and end the Pant-Stress he's been having (haha). THESE ARE INCREDIBLE Material - Sturdy but Lightweight, Seems Breathable Length - He is tall, they come to his Knee and look amazing on him. Waist - The stretchy part at the sides is AMAZING, what a good idea! It fits him very well and doesn't pinch and bunch! Boulder Creek products seem to be true to measurements. That can be hard to find when you as big as I am(5xl). What else is awesome Kingsize told me I would receive my merchandise between Aug 4 - Aug 11. It came on July 29. I know that things won't be that fast every time but that sure was nice. Beat everything fulfilled by Amazon ordered that same day. Heck amazon claims merchandise will be here by Aug 4 but it hasn't shipped as of July 30. All in all if you are a big guy like I am give Boulder Creek a try, I think you will be happy. Just know your measurements and go by the size chart. I've been making do with the same shorts that shorter people wear for ALL these years and finally noticed these, that are made for normally sized people like me. I'm 6'5" and can't imagine why I was okay with wearing the same size shorts that somebody 5'9" would wear. I don't wear the same long pants. I don't wear the same shirts or jackets and yet I've accepted wearing the same shorts. No more. These actually come to my knees like shorts should. I'm going to start getting rid of my shorter shorts and only wear those that fit ME. ... show more

Shorts would be good for big, tall man but not big, short man. Waist is good for big man, but length too long for a short man. Not likely too be shortened because of the placement of the pockets.

I've been running around in "sport shorts / gym shorts" for years now during the warm months. Yet it was becoming clear to me I needed to change up my wardrobe. They just don't make them like they use to. My favorite pairs are years old and all the newer stuff lasts a year or two before it's just to worn out. Plus... I've been struggling to keep things of importance in my pockets. My wallet, keys & my phone have been living in my backpack cause they either fall out or weight my shorts down to much. Even without "heavy" things in my pockets, I was fighting a (loosing) battle. Having to hike those shorts up constantly (underwear as well cause it was get dragged down to). It was just inconvenient, frustrating & embarrassing. These shorts... I am totally in love with!!! I've read other reviews complaining about the pockets on these!? Sorry... But really??? Sure, there is a small pocket here and there, but there are more than enough large pockets to carry everything you normally need. And I no longer need to worry about the weight of those things dragging my shorts down. I've been pairing these with basic polo shirts for a totally upgraded look and getting a ton of compliments. Yeah.. these shorts are more expensive, but we'll worth the investment! ... show more
