I bought this because I was out of my "usual" face wash. So far I'm enjoying very smooth skin. I've been using it on my face, neck, upper chest, even starting using on the back of my hands. I do notice it helps with fine lines.

    • Good Face Wash but Not a Cure-All

Since glycolic acid wash has been all the rage, and this one had such good reviews, I decided to try it – mostly to exfoliate my skin and help with chin oiliness and chin acne. This cleanser is a clear gel that has a light scent and is not harsh feeling as you gently massage into moistened skin. I use it several nights a week to wash my face. The tube says use 2-3 times a week for normal, dry or sensitive skin and 4-5 times a week for oily and/or acne prone skin. I researched it online, and it seems glycolic acid cleansers are best used at night, but I’m no expert. I have been using this cleanser for 2 months now. The first thing I immediately noticed is that my skin felt cleaner, softer and my chin wasn’t as oily. It did dry out my skin at first which is dry anyway from the mouth up. Use a good moisturizer after using this cleanser. My Skin I’m a 43-year-old woman with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) which for me means more androgens and thus cystic acne on my chin. I’m on medication for PCOS and I take birth control to help with face oiliness and cystic acne but beginning in my 40s my cystic acne has returned with a vengeance. Before I started using this cleanser, I already had a gross cystic acne cluster on my chin. As discussed in some other reviews, this glycolic acid cleanser didn’t make them nearly disappear the next day. It wasn’t a magic potion. But those with hardcore hormonal acne know that it’s its own entity and there is no magic cure. Certain products may help but they do not get rid of hormonal cystic acne. Hormonal acne is just what it sounds like, it’s hormonal and comes from within. (I am researching dietary changes and other suggestions on how else those with PCOS can help reduce hormonal acne, especially as we get older and our hormones change, but I’m pretty sure I’ll have it forever). Sunspots/Melasma As I got older, I also ended up with sunspots/melasma/brown patches on my cheeks and forehead from the sun and/or taking hormones (birth control) no matter what I did or do to prevent it. My dermatologist said Vitamin C is best for my melasma but I’ve been using that for a few years and although it makes my skin look better it hasn’t done much to help the dark spots. I’ve also used Ambi fade cream and expensive skin lightening pads that did nothing either. I use Origins Modern Friction Dermabrasion scrub and that seems to help fade them some. As of yet, I have not noticed a difference with my sunspots using this glycolic acid cleanser. I will update the review if that changes. Acne Scars/Hyperpigmentation I also have acne scars from my hormonal acne. I am Caucasian & Asian so maybe because of my skin tone, I get hyperpigmentation with my cystic acne. My pimples turn crazy, dark reddish purple. I do pick my face sometimes which makes the acne scarring worse of course, but even if I don’t pick, my skin remains purple for weeks after the acne has healed. It’s annoying and people constantly look at my chin wondering what the heck is wrong with it. For acne scarring, I use Retin-A cream, a salicylic acid 20% peel on occasion and I have previously used Ambi fade cream. These may help a little but my acne scars remain full force. I’ve also done microneedling four times which only helped a little. I am probably a worst case scenario though and because I’m older, my skin doesn’t renew and heal as easily and quickly as it did when I was younger. So far, I think this glycolic acid cleanser makes my skin tone look more even but it has not faded my acne scars or anything. Not that I’m expecting it to, but just mentioning it in case it’s important to you. Oh … Aging … Fine Lines & Wrinkles Hmmm. I’m so wrapped up in my acne, I guess I’m less concerned with wrinkles. I don’t want wrinkles, of course, but that’s not my top priority. I’m sure this cleanser helps but I haven’t noticed any younger looking skin and no one has said anything to me yet about my skin. Conclusion The bottle of cleanser I received had a free product offer sticker if I left a review on Amazon. So, I’m leaving my review, and you can see it’s the real deal. Yes, this is also a rant about my skin, but for many of you with similar issues as me, I want you to know the effect this cleanser had or didn't have on these issues. I would highly recommend trying this cleanser out and seeing how it works for you but don’t buy it thinking miracles are going to happen overnight and, of course, realize everyone’s skin is different and responds differently. ... show more

So let me start off by saying you must buy this. Hear me out, I have rosacea and very sensitive skin, I barely use anything on my face other than CeraVe because of how sensitive my face is. I needed a exfoliant that was gentle but didn't have chemicals drowning in it, because my face cannot handle that, SO someone recommended this to me and it was by far the most amazing thing i have ever bought, it is all so natural, the exfoliant beads are so little and so calming, i HAVE NEVER had an issue or skin flare up. Cleanses, minimizes pores, even skin tone. Skin looks smoother, younger. I use hyaluronic serum afterward because the cleanser can be a little drying on my combination, aging skin.

The media could not be loaded. This is an amazing exfoliating cleanser with Teatree, peppermint, lavender, Shea butter, seaweed, willow, bark, and bamboo. It is not too harsh, and as you can see in the video, it has little beads to scrub. This is mainly for oily or acne, prone skin.
