    • Came Dirty and Looked Awfully Suspicious
I was looking to replace the cheap set of dumbbells I've been working with for about a decade and this seemed like a good option. When it actually came in, I wasn't exactly thrilled with the problems it had. 1) It came dirty. It looked as if there was a small pile of sand over the equipment. 2) The metric system was used. Admittedly, this is more preferential, but I would had liked it if my weights were printed in imperial units. 3) It felt cheap. Just holding the bar felt like it wouldn't be able to endure more than it was advertised. I'm sure the included weights wouldn't be a problem, but if you intend to put on more, I wouldn't trust it. 4) It smelled. This is a hard one to explain. It wasn't so much as a fresh package smell, but of all the packages I've ordered from Amazon so far, this one had a foul stench. It just felt wrong. Perhaps I was unfair in giving it a chance, but when the bar felt so fragile, it was hard for me to want to exercise with it unless I took it easy, which I won't. That being said, it may still serve its purpose for light activity, but if you're looking to build up on a budget, consider spending that extra cash instead. ... show more

It should be clarified that the weight given in the title is the TOTAL weight of BOTH the dumbells + the bar. This is very misleading. If you advertise something as ## Pound dumbells, it is known that each dumbell should weight the advertised amount. If it wasn't for this false adveritisng, I would have given it 5 stars. ... show more

If you're a woman like me who wants to begin weight training and doesn't want to buy too many weights, this is a good product to stat with. The only downside is that the screws holding the weights in place unscrew often during the reps. I believe the weights are filled with sand which seem lighter and not as heavy. Also, there is a max weight the bar can hold. This is definitely a starter dumbbell. ... show more

I like this weight set because I am able to turn one set of weights into something I can dead lift, do presses, or just use as hand weights. I like that the weights are not metal - I have metal one and they give me calluses unless I wear gloves. The foam bar handles are comfortable and I haven't gotten any blisters on my palms yet. The weights are listed in KG instead of pounds - I just took to a conversion calculator on Google to figure out exactly how much weight was in each. I think, for the price, this set is excellent for a beginning weight trainer that has limited space for storage. ... show more

Did not receive the distribution of weights as described, plus 3 of the pieces had nubs of plastic sticking out from the inside, so they could not even be fitted to the bar. These are so cheaply made, I would have been nervous to use them. Returned.

This is SUPER helpful for hone workouts especially for the apartment! I will say this is a very beginner set which I wish I paid more attention to the weight limits but regardless is a very good quality. I received my 22 pounds set yesterday, and I am already enjoying it. It came on time, and even though the package showed some mistreatment during shipping, the whole set was neatly wrapped and protected, so there were not broken or missing pieces. Actually, I received 3 additional orange nuts. I begin to use the weights almost immediately; the grip is good, they are well balanced, and the weight is perfect for what my wife and me wanted, which is mostly to strength the breast and shoulder muscles.
