    • Great amp with great tone!
Great amp! Most importantly, is the sound quality. It has a nice warm tone...almost as good as an all-tube amp...very close. I'm using this for Pedal Steel Guitar & I get a great tone from it....& plenty of power. I'll occasionally use headphones (it has a headphone jack, audio in, etc.)...& the sound quality is also great with headphones. I try not to use headphones too much, as I get hearing fatigue if using too long...& I like it loud. It has a ton of great effects in the panel...& also on the 8 channels. The Boss Tone Studio is great, but can be complex & stressful at times...especially if you're not computer savvy. Yet, once you set up an effect for a channel using the Boss Tone Studio...it's really nice. I also have the Boss GA-FC EX foot controller & it's great to have. It, is also complex at first...& takes some time getting to know exactly how to use it. If you buy the controller pedal, & need advice...there's a great group on Facebook for that...as well as videos on YouTube. There's also groups for Katana amps as well. In closing, I'm very happy with the amp....especially it's warm, silky tone. Not harsh at all....I can't stand a harsh tone! I also use effects pedals...& have a pedal board....& I always will. I appreciate the simplicity of effects pedals vs. the built in effects to be quite honest. All in all...I love my Boss Katana 100 Gen 3, & definitely recommend buying it. Great amp, that is in my price range! Oh...I definitely recommend spending a few more dollars & buying the 100 watt Katana...instead of the 50 watt Katana. You'll be happy you did! The extra 50 watts makes a huge difference. ... show more

When you compare performance and price to something like a Fender Super Reverb, this thing is a bargain. The modeling features will give you that crunchy heavy metal sound.

Adding to my Katana 50 Mk2 this is a real step up it has many more sounds and a USBC connection for control. I like the sound and it's a good size for many things. I bought this over the other modelling amps based some good experience with the last one. Apparently I can even hook the old one into it for stereo effects which is kind of neat. ... show more

    • Great amplifier, but you need to pay extra for bluetooth and foot control.
Great amplifier! For a solidstate device it responds like a tube amp. The effects options are vast. I really enjoy using this amp. The only thing that bothers me is that you have to pay extra for bluetooth and foot switch control. About $200.00 if you buy both. I feel that bluetooth or a foot switch should be included. ... show more

    • Great amps but they can break!
The Katana is good. This is my third one. I am a full-time musician, so these amps are used in many venues. My first is an Artist Gen 2 that is now sitting idle. I got it dialed in great, but now No Sound, and no one knows why! I bought a 50-watt Gen3 but realized that it doesn't have all the features I needed, so I got this one. PROBLEM I programmed wah wah - tested it at home for a few days. No problem. Got onstage and -- NO WAH !!!! It has not worked since! I don't have a clue why. These things are inexpensive and sound good but the Katana line can break for no reason! ... show more

    • Beyond Great!
As all BOSS products have been great for me I ordered it sight unseen and had it shipped 1200 miles for me to play an important show two days later. Not only was it fabulous but Im leaving it here and ordering another for my home region. I bought the nice cover and the midi-bluetooth unit as well. Sonic possibilities endless. If you play acoustic guitars or want that famous " Brown Sound" you will get it all in this great product from BOSS! By the way, I played with a 3 piece horn section and 2 keyboard players, guitars and Bass and drums. The KATANA 100 GEN 3 cut through the stage mix and found its own sweet spot. Light to pick up.
