  • Power Packed!
Size: 40 Watt Style: V3
Small size and lite-weight but power packed. I am impressed with this little Bass Amplifier by Fender - the Rumble 40 V3 is surprisingly well put together. Don't let the small size of this Amp fool you... hook it up, turn it on and crank it up. The 10" speaker packs a punch and provides plenty of volume for small rooms no problem. The XLS Out is the real prize though... with the ability to directly connect this Amp to my mixer, I can play any gig with this little Amp. Delivery was delayed for a day but I have no idea why. But it came the following day and the box was in good shape. It came in a standard cardboard box with typical styrofoam corner pieces to protect it from side impact. Unpacking was a simple matter of opening the top flaps of the box, removing the styrofoam corners and lifting it straight out of the box. It came with a rather short electric cord but it is a D type connector and I have many of them laying about so getting a longer one for it will be no problem. The knobs feel good not loose or cheap feeling. The levels were a bit harder to appreciate at least to my ear... its difficult to hear minor changes in knob settings when turning them. The best feature is the classic vibe button and the the separate Master knob. Nothing surprising. Just good, logical, placement and orientation - it made it easy to figure things out and adjust the volume and tone to my liking. Back to the speaker - the 10" speaker pushes a lot of air for such a small size which was a pleasant surprise. Bottom line - for a buck ninety nine the Fender Rumble 40 is a solid deal and makes a great practice / small room Bass amp by itself and with the added ability to connect it directly to your board means you can play it anywhere. Small size yep... I'm digging it. Power packed! If I could make one suggestion it would be to make the box just a touch larger and include the air holes to help it move even more air but that's just the old school coming out! lol! :-) Keep Rocking Good People! Keep Rocking! Update 07/01/2020 - Purchased this in 2018 now all these months later and numerous shows and practices and getting lugged around and thrown in the van and etc etc... This little gem of a Bass amp has truly stood up to the test of "actual use" - not just sitting in a room somewhere but essentially getting tromped on and moved around rather regularly. Of course Corona put a damper on things for about the last 4 months or so but prior to the end of the world, we played a huge gig for St. Patricks and the Rumble 40 stood up nicely. The thing that stangs out the most is the XLS output jack in the back that allowed our sound guy to plug it into the giant sub cub speaker stand and basically fill the room with atomic level boom boom. It was awesome! Cheers! Keep rocking everyone! Be safe out there! ... show more

  • Great quality sound!
Size: 40 Watt Style: V3
Great Bass amp. I was a little skeptical about buying it but it is amazing! It's not going to be your concert equipment but it's amazing for a jam session. Definitely exceeded my expectations.

  • Surprisingly Lightweight
Size: 40 Watt Style: V3
Surprisingly lightweight - i just wish it had an extra output for a cabinet, its strong enough to play even bigger gigs, did not use it more than 50% volume/gain maybe 60% max and sounded pretty good.

  • Major takeaway
Size: 40 Watt Style: V3
I bought this amp to replace the Peavey Basic 112 bass amp. At 70 years of age and I play 5 or 6 times a month for church events my desire was for ease of transporting. The Peavey is 50 lbs. The rumble 40 is 18 lbs. Also concern was I didnt want to sacrifice bass tone. The rumble 40 is able to be much lighter and still offer a solid bass tone. I am able to adjust bass tone in many different ways. Very versatile. Very pleased with the rumble 40. Having played bass for 50 plus years and having owned 5 amps, this one surprised me right out of the box. ... show more

  • Perfect practice amp
Size: 40 Watt Style: V3
Needed a good practice amp to replace my old 30 watt Behringer. After watching a few YouTube videos reviewing the rumble 40, I decided to order. Amp came well packaged, included a power cable, manual, and warranty. I was under the impression that the warranty was for five years, but the one in the box said it was only two years. Not a huge concern for me as most products fail within the first year if they are defective. As far as the amp goes, it's perfect for my needs. It can get very loud and has great punchy bass, or it can be used at low volume without loss of sound quality. May even be loud enough for a coffee house or church band. I turned the volume up to just past 3 o'clock and it literally shook the windows! All that sound from a box that weighs 18lbs. I would say if you're looking for a good practice amp that can easily handle a five string bass, you won't be disappointed with the rumble 40. I could give you the specs and details of the eq and features, but that's all listed in the item description. Suffice to say, the cabinet is solid, and the knobs feel nice and tight. All in all, a well constructed amp. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Best practice amp for the money
Size: 40 Watt Style: V3
Solid build, but lightweight. Sounds punchy annd sweet even at lower volumes. Suitable for smaller gigs (loud enough, even with a drummer). Wide range of tonal possibilities that are easy to dial up. Compares favorably with other brands in price range.
