As an intermediate guitarist who is right on money, I found this pedal to be a great deal. I bought it so me and my friends could jam to come as you are by nirvana and to get started on my pedal board. A very good pro about this pedal is that it is EXTREMLY durable. Just like any other boss pedal, these things are built like tanks and will take even the most of severe beatings. The effect is very "wet" and echoey. I don't know how to describe it with words. If I could try to use only one it would be the word calm. The effect has four knobs that help you dial in your style perfectly and it is fun to fool around with the controls. This review has been all over the place but I'm just trying to put the positives in the light! I hope this has been helpful ... show more

This unit is great! It is extremely adjustable from mild to wild. Built well and very sturdy. Compact size is a plus. Instructions and info with are very detailed. I would recommend aux or ac pwr for it as it will use up a 9v battery fairly soon. If you have more than one pedel, definately get the ac pwr. It also does reduce gain between your instrument and amp a little. A dyna/comp will fix that. When adjusted to full chorus effect you get a broad spectrum of shimmering tones that are precise and ethereal. Its a good choice. ... show more

Boss makes excellent pedals and I love the sound that comes from this chorus. The first CE-5 I purchased randomly went out on me after about 3 or 4 months and after I contacted the seller they RMA'd me without any problems (lucky I kept the box, manuals, and everything else). I had forgot to mention to the seller that my address had changed and the pedal had already shipped to my old address. After a few emails with the sellers the issue was corrected and I received my brand new CE-5 today! I would recommend both this product and the seller (NGEM) to anyone looking for guitar equipment. ... show more

Very pleased with the sound. Only drawback is having to remove the input cable other wise the battery drains. There should be a master ON/OFF switch.

Product is accurately described. Works well for our purposes (gospel music and hymns at a nursing home). Allows a greater variety of guitar sounds when using only an amplified acoustic guitar, chording with with some transitional notes or finger picking. Good value at Amazon's price of $79.00
