Heat Tape is always a great thing to have on hand! Frozen pipes are a really huge pain! It's a stressful, inconvenient, and potentially expensive situation! If there's a way for you to be able to wrap your at-risk-of-freezing-pipes with a product like Boslla Self Regulating Heat Tape do so! Make sure to have access to a three pronged electrical outlet before beginning the wrapping process! This Boslla Kit comes with fiber enforced tape to help hold the heat tape in place. Once you've secured the heat tape around your pipes plug in the electrical plug into an electrical outlet. This heat tape will self regulate according to the temperature thus keeping your pipes from freezing!. Boslla Self Regulating 24 FT Heat Tape is very energy efficient! There isn't any noticable change in energy bills while in use. It's a safe, tried, and true tool that is worth every penny, and all efforts! Boslla Heat Tape for Water Pipes, Freeze Protection, Self-Regulating Water Pipe Heat Cable, Energy-Saving Heat Tape for Pipes, RV Water Hose and Gutters, 120V, 24Ft We sometimes push the limits of when we close our 3 season camp in Maine, and freezing the water pump that sits outside is a real possibility if an unexpected cold snap comes through. As a stop gap we would throw an electric blanket over it, but that's not exactly a weather proof or safe thing to do. When I saw this heat tape in my Vine offerings (my choice, no vendor influence) I knew I had to try it. It comes with a light up plug indicating the power is on (otherwise if it is not cold enough yet, the tape won't activate and you wouldn't know if it was working or not). It self regulates the tape temperature, and automatically shuts off around 50β. I of course tested it first before crawling under the cottage to apply, and was quite pleased with how toasty it gets! 24 feet never goes as far as you think, but even so this is generous compared to others I have seen. I was able to wrap the pressure tank and the pump with several turns, and still have enough to run along the main line leading up into the cottage. My main concern is to protect the pump which is expensive to replace should it freeze and crack, whereas the rest of the piping is PEX and polyethylene is cheap and easily fixed if need be (although that has yet to happen). Our temps dropped into the low 20s last night and we had no freezing. The tape kept the pump safe. At a little over dollar a foot, this heat tape is a no brainer.

Now this is heat tape! Wow I'm impressed with this heat tape, through out the years I have bought a lot of heat tape and all have been crappy, they never heat up, they take forever to warm up of they do at all, and always they are luke warm at bestπππ the "thermostat blocks" never worked and were always difficult to kepp in position, so when i saw this heat tape i was excited, it literally does everything you want and need heat tape to do! It actually heats up nicely and in a timely fashion, the thermostat is the whole thing so no need to worry about placing it just right, it's very well made, and it comes in different lengths! Everything so far about this is awesome, I'm very impressed and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality heat tape. And wholly molly is the price just amazing! I'm about to put this to the test and I will update with anything I come across, Cheers!

As the weather becomes cold, it is time to get the well house ready for freezing temps. I have been using a small portable heater on nights where cold temps are expected. This unit is not controlled by thermostat so I must manually make sure to turn on and off. With this, I have wrapped the PVC in the well house from the pressure tank, around the filter and down to where it goes underground. It has not been cold enough to see how well this works. Initial thoughts, the jacketing is of good quality and thickness, install was straight forward and I did cover the wrapping in foil per the instructions before adding the foam pipe insulation on top of that. I am thinking that I will be installing a home automation switch to connect this that will have a script to run when the temps drop below 40* and shut off when the temp gets back to 45* so I do not have to manually unplug or switch manually with the temps being all over the place. If this works as I think it will, the cost to value on this is outstanding. I will update if things do not go as planned.
