Designed with simplicity in mind, this small soundbar only uses a single connection to the TV via an optical audio cable (included) or an HDMI cable (sold separately) and has you up and running in minutes. At just over 2" tall, the Bose TV Speaker is a compact sound bar that can be placed just about anywhere. And small LED lights on the front of this small soundbar turn on and/or change color for visual confirmation when certain features are enabled. They also blink in acknowledgement of volume changes. The Bose TV Speaker has HDMI-CEC, which allows the TV and this small soundbar to communicate when connected with an HDMI cable. Meaning when you turn the TV on, the TV speaker will automatically turn on too. With this technology, you can even keep using your current TV remote to control the volume of this compact soundbar. However, the Bose TV Speaker comes with its own remote. And on it, you can enable “dialogue mode” on the TV speaker to elevate vocals even more or press the “bass” button for some extra depth. This speaker definitely meets Bose standards. The sound is absolutely amazing! I've seen many reviews criticizing its bass output, but I am impressed with how much "oompf" comes out of such a small package. For my audio needs, I won't need a sub woofer. Maybe the others didn't have their speaker placed as I do. I have an older entertainment center that had a larger space for a 32" TV (older type, not flatscreen) and a smaller space with shelves for other audio equipment. I gutted it to create an open space to fit our 43" flatscreen and have the speaker placed under the TV. Maybe that's why it sounds so good. ... show more

I ordered this for my husband and the box arrived looking tampered. Everything was just loose inside the box and the cable that was inside the box was a different shape than what the speaker had. However, he gave it a chance and plugged it in and tampered woth the pairing for about half an hour and got it to work with the cable it came with. We cannot complain at all about the sound quality. We’ve has this TV Speaker installed for a couple of months. It is a good improvement over the default internal Vizio tv speakers. The bass and clarity are greatly improved. We sometimes use the speech clarifier function. It works OK. The Bose TV speaker will turn itself off after the TV is turned off. I think that the Automatic Power Off time is around 90 minutes. You can also turn off the Bose speaker at anytime using its remote. The remote is tiny with dark gray text on black. It may be stylish in a well lit room but is not optimal in a darker room at night. I spent quite a while repeatedly trying to configure the Bose remote control to work with the existing remotes. That process should be made easier. I bought the Bose TV speaker to replace a Bose Soundlink 3 that I was using as a TV speaker. I like that it has the HDMI-ARC and Optical connection options that eliminate the audio delay that Bluetooth can cause when watching shows, movies, etc. I had expected TV speaker to have better bass than the Soundlink 3 but it actually doesn't. It's close to the same level of bass but I believe I'm going to have to add the Bass Module 500 to achieve the level of bass I want. Otherwise excellent sound quality, having the remote control is a great feature and the dialogue mode works really well. I am pleased with the sound quality but I wish it had at least the same or greater level of bass output as the Soundlink 3 that I was replacing. ... show more

This soundbar is incredible. The highs are extra crispy, and the lows are super clean. I live in an apartment and have to have the bass level (5 levels to chose from) on 1 to be kind to my neighbors. Could easily run this without a sub and have plenty of bass response. Dolby Atmos is incredible, and the surround sound capabilities are super impressive. The form factor is nice and compact, but puts out way more sound than my larger old LG soundbar with a sub. The dialogue mode is great for watching shows without turning the volume up too much. My only qualm is that you can't pair this soundbar to your Apple TV Remote the traditional way (I think it's an issue with Apple, not Bose. Apple won't recognize the Bose remote), BUT you can pair your Apple TV remote to your Bose soundbar, instead of the other way around, and it works perfectly. You can find the way to do it in the manual or online through Bose's resources. ... show more

My hearing is not what it used to be. I bought a new TV, a ROKU TV, but I had a lot of trouble hearing the dialog in various dramatic programs. I noticed this sound bar. claimed by Bose to work seamlessly with my ROKU remote, so I ordered one. It took only a half hour to get it connected, and once the HDMI connection was made, this sound bar because a logical part of the TV. This was easy to set up and makes a wonderful difference in the range and quality of the sound. I never heard the bass tones before, the dialog is crisp, and as the husband pointed out, the speakers that come on most monitors/TVs are tiny and often in the back! This Bose TV Soundbar is front and center and really delivers a quality sound experience. The remote is small (okay) but the buttons are labeled in dark grey on a black background. I'm always reaching for my glasses or turning on a light to see the controls. It's new, so I'll get used to it. WORTH IT! ... show more

Not an audiophile - bought this to hear dialog better than my TV speakers. Works REALLY nice. Full sound for music, etc, and the dialog enhancement gives the mix only a slight, but effective, tweak. Love it. Connected to my 3yr old Vizio using optical cable (provided). My TV promised to detect and turn on any sound bar, but lied. So, I'll play with it a bit to see if I can use the TV or Universal remote...that's the only reason 4 instead of 5 stars. Have not tried to blutooth, so no rating on that ... show more
