I recently purchased the Bose QuietComfort 35 Headphones Ear Cushion Kit, and the results are well worth the investment. However, there are a few installation quirks worth noting. The installation process can be tricky, as securely placing the foam pads to the clips requires some finesse. Unless you have tiny fingers, I recommend using a clip installation tool. Unfortunately, Bose doesn't include this tool, which would have made the process more user-friendly. I used another clip installation tool from a generic set I purchased earlier, which helped. (Although that generic set didn't match Bose's noise-canceling standard, hence why I opted for the Bose OEM set instead.) The installation instructions are clear, but there's a slight discrepancy – they mention nine tabs or clips, while the QC35 Series II headphones actually have 10. It's a minor detail but worth noting. Also, you only receive one set of adhesive stickers for attaching the scrim with this set. So, you have just one chance to get it right, so be cautious during installation. Generic kits often include multiple pieces of scrim in case you make a mistake, but the adhesive may not be as strong. Bose's adhesive, on the other hand, is exceptionally strong and keeps everything in place. In essence, the Bose Ear Cushion Kit is superior to generic alternatives. They offer genuine noise-canceling performance and provide a level of quality and durability that justifies the higher price tag. While it might be tempting to opt for cheaper alternatives, my experience has shown that investing in the Bose kit is a wise choice, ensuring you get the quality and performance you expect. I've had my QuietComfort 35 headphones for years, and, finally, the original cushions disintegrated into a mess. The replacement process is low-medium difficulty and requires some dexterity. The included directions were helpful, but I had to do additional searching to figure out how to get the new cushions to snap in. I gave this five stars because (a) my headphones are as good as new, and (b) I am grateful Bose offers reasonably priced user replacement parts in 2024.

The older pads were deteriorating due to wear and tear. I tried an after market pad, but was very dissatisfied. The Bose replacement is softer and larger, giving a much better fit. 100% recommend these over the aftermarket alternative.
