  • Excellent product from Bose!
Color: Desert Gold
I wrestled with purchasing these Bose earbuds as many of the social media reviewers gave unsatisfactory reviews in my opinion. I have tried all the competitors earbuds; at least the Crown Jewels of that particular company. As these reviews are subjective I will save you the hassle. I have several Bose products and find them very, very good. Although I wouldn’t say that I’m a Bose fanboy. I have several Sony products, I have several Apple products, Technics, JBL, and many other “brands” and find them useful and usually fairly good. As for these ear buds, it may be helpful to consider what you expect to use them for and what your expectations are. At the time of purchase, these were excellent value for money as they were cheaper than the major competitors at this “premium” level. The noise canceling is superior to Apple and Sony IMO. I was 5ft from a barking husky and could barely hear it. 5 star. As for comfort, I have worn these for various times during the day, during walks, around the house and for taking calls. My ears never have hurt or get “sore” after long use (more than 5 hours). I realize that this is subjective, but I have smaller ear holes and the ear tips are soft and associated supports that go around the driver fit my ear very well and provide lasting light comfort. These earbuds are not overly heavy at all. I have an Apple iPhone, and have found connectivity to be very little problem at all. It connects without issue and plays all my apps very seamlessly, Spotify, YouTube, Audible phone calls all the rest no issues whatsoever. I have not tested water resistance in that sense however walking in the rain no issues, with sweat doesn’t seem to be any issue. I’m anal about keeping them clean and I would encourage you to do the same. They seem durable and not flimsy or cheap. Finally, we get to the most important part for me at least and that is the quality of the sound coming through them for music. I am not an audiophile, at least not in the sense that I think about other sounds snobbery, but I do love my music and I know what it should sound like if you like the U curve or the typical rock curve you will love these earbuds. The base is rich, but not distorted, the mids are very good, and the highest trebles are not hissy, but crisp. Equalizer in the app only has three settings, but I still think it’s useful and helpful. However, you’ll have to use other settings if you have an iPhone to get it dialed in to your liking. Fortunately, I was able to do that to get better volume and better control in concert with Apple iPhone settings turning off Spotify equalizer and sticking to the Bose app for controlling the quality of the sound and it did work well. iPhone has a setting in which it limits the volume, adjust that setting and your volume will increase by I would say 20% maybe a little more, I have them dialed in now. And having them dialed in I think the sound is excellent and very enjoyable. I think these are well worth the purchase and have enjoyed them for the time. I’ve owned them with no issues with charging or any other issues. Highly recommended. Give them 5 stars. ... show more

  • Worth the splurge if ANC and comfort matter most
Color: Desert Gold
After living with the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) for a while, I can say they earn their reputation. The noise cancellation is the best I've used in an earbud — flights, coffee shops, and city streets all just - quiet down- in a way that still feels natural rather than pressurized. CustomTune's auto-calibration genuinely seems to make a difference, and the sound is rich and warm with that signature Bose bass that doesn't smother the mids. Immersive Audio is a real party trick — it pulls the soundstage out of your head in a way most earbuds can't. Comfort is the other standout. The wingtip-and-tip combos let you dial in a fit that stays put without fatigue, even on long sessions. Multipoint Bluetooth, wireless charging on the case, and the improved AI-based call clarity round out a properly premium package. That said, honest is honest: battery life tops out at about 6 hours (4 with Immersive Audio on), which is short compared to a lot of the competition. The case is functional but bulkier and less premium-feeling than the buds deserve at $299. Call quality is much improved but still trails the AirPods Pro. And if you already own the 1st Gen and got multipoint via firmware update, the upgrade case is thin. Bottom line: if you want class-leading ANC, gorgeous sound, and all-day comfort, these are as good as it gets. Just go in knowing you're paying flagship money and charging more often than you might . ... show more

  • Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra Gen 2 - A Short Summary of My Experience So Far
Color: Black
I owned a pair of the earlier Bose earbuds that came out in 2020. The bluetooth on the right one quit working, although the noise cancellation still works, and so it was time to get another pair for music listening. I considered Apple and Sony in addition to the Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra Gen 2. I read reviews of the different devices. Even though Sony got good reviews for music quality, they come with foam tips. Some years ago, I purchased multiple pairs of wire ear buds, many of which came with foam tips for noise isolation. The foam always got so it itched in my ears after a short period, and so I did not want the Sony. The reviews said that Apple was good for its features, but not as good as Bose for music quality or for noise cancellation. So I purchased the Bose. It would have been nice to have been able to try the different buds prior to purchase, but with earbuds that is not possible. Some people touted the Bose as having a bass heavy sound. I do not find them that way at all. In fact I turned the bass up slightly in the equalizer (in the Bose app on my phone). The sound quality is very good and I would have compared it directly to my old Bose, but the right bud doesn't work anymore. I think for music sound quality is great and is similar to what I was used to in the old ear buds, which I thought was very good. The noise cancellation still works in my old earbuds and so I was able to do a side by side comparison of the noise cancellation and to be honest, I could not tell a difference. Both sets appeared to work about the same, which is very well. The QCUG2 have different levels of noise cancellation and I use it mostly on the "Quiet" mode. I use them while I mow my lawn, and even in quiet mode, I still hear my (gasoline powered) lawn mower, but the sound is quite a bit muted. I use them when I go on walks and listen to music and use the "Aware" mode. I have tried the "Immersion" mode but don't see much difference in the way the music sounds. I liked the fit of the original earbuds better, even though Bose has supposed to have improved for the QCUG2. The fit on the QCUG2 is okay and I used them recently for a 1.5 hour phone conversation and that worked very well. The feeling was more like the person was in the room with me, than being on a phone call. I personally probably like the fit of the original buds better, but that could be caused by the uniqueness of my ears. Yes, I would buy them again. FYI, I had Amazon alert when their price was reduced and bought them a couple days later when I received the alert. I have a couple of iPod Touch 2 music players which I still use rather than my phone (they are much smaller in size than the iPhone). I could not put the current version of the Bose app on my Touch because it doesn't accept the current version of the Apple operating system. I put an earlier app version on my Touch, but so far I cannot get it to link with the QCUG2. It plays the music just find, and while it shows the QCUG2 in its list of Bluetooth devices, it continually says the QCUG2 are not available. This is probably a problem most people would not have--the Bose app on my iPhone finds and links with the QCUG2 just fine. I hope this was somewhat helpful to the reader. My bottom line is that I think they are fine earbuds and I disagree on the thought that they sound boomy. They fit fine and the polymer earbud tips don't cause my ears to itch like foam has. ... show more

  • BEST EARBUDS I HAVE EVER OWNED NO LIE!
Color: Black
Best ear buds I have ever owned!!! I am an audiophile and am VERY PICKY when it comes to my audio! I listen to audio ALL DAY LONG! I love BASS!! I was worried when I got these that 1. I wouldn’t get enough Bass and that 2. I wouldn’t be able to get enough volume out of these ear buds seeing that my previous ear buds wouldn’t go high enough even when they were at Max volume! So I gave these a try. I am extremely happy to report that 1. These have wonderful bass!! Which you are able to adjust using the Bose app which is pretty easy to use. Just install after you link the ear buds to your phone or computer/laptop/tablet then install the app and adjust the bass in the EQ! EZ PZ! 2.these have more than enough volume! I am able to go to about 75% volume and leave it there depending on the app I am using and hear just fine and that is using only one earbud. I use one earbud at a time so that I am able to extend the length of time that I am able to use the earbuds throughout the day as I stay up ALL day and night but when I do use both they stay at about the same volume as well. The battery life is GREAT!!! They last well throughout the day and night and I get about 3 charges from the case before I need to recharge the case. That is a charge of the right earbud the Left earbud and another full charge of the right ear bud and a partial charge of the Left ear bud before I have to recharge the case. You are able to charge the case by USB-C cable or by wireless charger. When I first started wearing these earbuds they gave me some discomfort but I was able to adapt to that and now I am fine with them and have no discomfort and they feel GREAT!! They fit great in my ears and don’t move at ALL! They are snug and at times I forget that I have them in at all lol! The case is nice and light. It’s tiny enough that it fits in my pocket and I know where it is at all times lol it has a light on the front so that when I am charging the earbuds the light radiates and when the charging case is done charging the light goes out. These are things the seller does not tell you!! When you are using the earbuds you will know the earbuds are about to go out of battery because a nice lady will come into your ear and tell you that the battery is low two times and then u will get about 20-30 more minutes of power before they die so either change the earbud if u are using only one or charge them if u are using both! They fit VERY snug in the case sometimes so snug you can’t get them out lol so no worries about them falling out of the case!! When u put them in your ear at first you will be greeted with the amount of battery life you have in the earbud. Overall I am so happy with these earbuds and I don’t want to get a new pair EVER LOL! I keep these with me 24/7 and the case is in my pocket at all times. I would HIGHLY recommend these to anyone that is interested in a pair of BOSE earbuds! These are the best earbuds I have ever had and I will be buying a new pair if I ever need to again!! ... show more

  • Not worth the price
Color: Black
I bought these after leaving my Beats Fit Pro at a friend’s house in a different state. I will be reviewing in comparison to that product. Better: Noise cancellation is some of the best I’ve used. Same: sound quality, comfort, and case is functionally similar and worth the money in my opinion (despite Fit Pro’s being quite a bit cheaper at time of this review). Worse: Apple integration is poor. These do not allow me to decline calls it’s difficult to get information like battery life. There is a mode called immersion that makes it sounds like your listening to the audio in a shipping container. Not my style so just another step to swapping between the usable modes and cannot be altered. The transparency mode is noticeably worse as well. There’s the slight metallic sound as well as volume adjustment issues. This is comparing to, the best I’ve ever used, with the beats fit pro, so may not be a fair comparison. On that note, I hate the touch controls. I accidentally stop the sounds or adjust the volume all the time. Plus, I wear them at work with gloves and if my hands aren’t flawlessly clean then it causes misclicks. All and all these are a fine backup to my older and cheaper Beats Fit Pro now that I have got them back. I do not want to promote Apple, but that’s just the comparison I had on hand. If these were even close to the current price of the buds I deem objectively better for anything outside task you would prefer muffs for, than I would have given them another star but at the time of writing this the BFP are 150$ cheaper…so you could effectively buy 2 pair for the same price as the Bose. ... show more

  • UPDATE - PROBLEM CORRECTED: Great Sound and Noise CNX, HORRIBLE BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY!
Color: Black
UPDATE: Contacted Bose directly and they graciously replaced the defective earbuds free of charge, including return shipping for the bad ones. The new ones provide the excellent quality I expected from Bose. Zero problem with bluetooth connection, noise CNX is so good I have to listen closely to hear if machinery in the shop is on or off. Music quality is great! Bought these for use in my woodshop to cancel machine noise while listening to music. CONNECTIVITY WITH THE PHONE IS TERRIBLE! When they work, they're great, but it's difficult establishing the bluetooth connection, and when working it will often suddenly drop for reasons unknown. The connectivity problem is a routine thing, not just now and then. I'm past the return window - I'll keep them for the excellent noise cancelling function when I want that, but listening to music becomes an aggrevation with the poor connectivity. I have Beats earbuds (no noise CNX) that sound great and work flawlessly everytime. ... show more

  • Excellent Sound and Noise Cancelling
Color: Black
I was concerned these wouldn't fit my ears (ear buds have traditionally not), but they fit great. I can't use them for exercise, but they work great for the airplane (block noise completely) or listening to music at night. The UX is not intuitive with the app, but the noise cancelling is excellent. I took on a plane ride to Japan and they lasted 5 hours. Easy to recharge, nice compact charging case, and amazing sound. I would recommend. ... show more

  • Bose wins for comfort and noise cancellation
Color: Midnight Violet
Over the years I’ve owned many Bose Earbuds (and a pair of QC35IIs) wired and Bluetooth. I used a pair of QC 2020s almost continuously for four years until the batteries started giving out. When that happened I thought it would be cool to have a pair of APP2 since I’m in the “ecosystem.” I used them on vacation and found them disappointing. On the flight home when the lady behind me would not shut up- and I could hear her- (and the engine noise) the first thing I did when I got home was put a pair of the Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra II in my cart and hit ‘buy.’ The second I put them in my ears I was rewarded with blessed silence and that was before I put on any music. Pros: The Midnight Violet is GORGEOUS. If you’re a fan of purple, these are for you. They’re super comfortable. Easy to get a good fit and seal. They don’t fall out and I can wear them for hours, no problem. My ears are never sore unlike the APP2. The noise cancellation is head and shoulders above the rest I don’t care what anyone else claims. There’s a reason they’re the gold standard. I put them in and I am effectively deaf (the way I like it). They have multipoint connect so it’s easy to switch between devices. I’ve always been a fan of the Bose sound signature and I think it’s better than ever. You also get an EQ in the app to tweak how you like. Cons: The case is almost twice the size of others and if you put a protective case on it (not easy to find) it makes it HUGE. Bose oddly only offers them in black and white. There is no ‘locate’ feature. C’mon Bose, even cheapy buds have this. So you have to put a case on them so you can add an AirTag to them and now your sleek, pretty earbuds look ridiculous. The touch controls are way too sensitive. If you accidentally touch one or your hair brushes one you’ll pause your music. It would be nice if we could adjust the sensitivity and assign the basic functions to one or the other. No widget. Having to go into the app is a pain. A lot of the negative feedback in the reviews here are common issues with any Bluetooth device especially if you have a lot of Bluetooth devices. That said, I haven’t experienced any of them. Bose is great about honoring their warranty so if I did have an issue I have no doubt they’d take care of me. Bottom line, if I lost them or they were damaged and I had to get on a plane tomorrow? I’d add to cart and spring for express delivery because they cover my top two priorities- comfort and the best noise canceling you can get. That they sound and look great is a bonus. If they had a locate feature and the ability to adjust the touch sensitivity I would have given them 5 stars. ... show more
