Description

The Bosch MRF23EVS 2.3 HP Electronic Fixed-Base Router delivers optimum user control, with the trigger-controlled power system that features a power switch in the fixed-base handle. This router has the power to get results, with its 15 Amp motor and adjustable speed settings. The variable-speed dial allows the operator to set the optimal speed. The Bosch Constant Response circuitry in the motor maintains a constant speed throughout the cut, resulting in clean, accurate product. The router has microfine bit- depth adjustment, with a continuous depth range of 1-5/8 in., allowing for accurate and fast changes, while its precision-centering design allows the bit to be centered with the sub-base or optional template guides. I've been using it primarily on a slab-flattening sled. I previously had a Skil router on the sled but the motor burned out. This Bosch has more HP and can handle the work.

    • On/off trigger on the handle is awesome!
Absolutely phenomenal router! I have used several routers over the years and find this to be superior. I am not a professional woodworker, but I have spent a decent amount of time using routers. My main reason for loving this router is the on/off trigger button on the handle. I don’t know why every router doesn’t have this. I feel like it gives the end user superior control over the router and makes it so much safer to use than other brands (I think the soft start also contributes to that). I mainly use a 1/2” diameter flush trim bit to run along templates to make cutouts in 3/4” thick birch and red oak plywood. The router has plenty of power to perform this task. I have not used it in a router table so I can not speak about that, but I am over the moon thrilled about using it for all of the freehand routing i do. ... show more

    • I thought Bosch routers would be more reliable
I bought this router hoping I could rely on Bosch tools for quality and reliability. Unfortunately I had to send it in for warrantee work after using it for a couple small projects. The unit would begin to start and then a second after pulling the trigger it would stop. Nothing worked until I unplugged the unit and then it would just repeat the same behavior. Good thing I have my 40 year old Craftsman router as a backup! I can only give a tool that prematurely broke one star. I'm in the process of sending it in for warrantee work (purchased it 8 months ago) so we shall see how long it lasts after I get it back. ... show more

I like the two LED lights in the base that illuminate my work. The trigger in the handle makes it safer to use. Adjusting depth of cut is accurate with the knob on the side. If you mount it in a Bosch router table, you can adjust the height of the bit with the included Allen wrench so you don't need a router table with a lift mechanism. The motor speed is electronically controlled and remains constant at any of the six selectable speeds. But there is a delay when you press the trigger. Comes with 1/2" and 1/4" collets. This is an awesome fixed base router. I had a porter cable that I permanently installed in a router table and wanted another fixed base model to replace it. The handle and trigger switch are features I did not have on the porter cable and are a vast improvement. The Bosch is large, but runs very very smooth.
