Replacement from Mercedes dealer is over $1000 and is a remanufactured OE version with a 2 year warranty. Even the dealer couldn’t understand how a brand new Bosch alternator could cost less than the dealer cost for the Mercedes replacement part.     • Worked fine on a 2006 MB E350
While it was very clean on the outside, I'm not sure it was brand new. Looked more like a cleaned up/refurbished unit when looking at the coils inside, which seemed to have some grease on the coils that are slightly behind the immediately visible area. The dealer had told me the whining noise was from bad alternator bearings. They were wrong. The new Alternator did not solve the whining noise so I now have an extra alternator. ... show more

fits and works on my w204 (c300) perfectly. this is the oem piece for a fraction of the price that Mercedes sells it for. the only difference is that it does not have the mercedes stamp but bosch makes their alternators.
