Update, the charging case now only works if I take my phone out of the case and plug it back in. Even after doing so, it does not always function properly again. The case will show it has a full charge, but will not charge my phone or the case. I can having the case plugged into a power source for hours and nothing is charged. I should have listened to the recent reviews of this case. I plugged in an accessory that splits the lightning port to a lightning port and 3.5 mm headphone jack. After thinking the accessory was defective, I learned that the charging case was causing the issue. The charging port on the phone case only recognized one of the splitter accessories of the plugs at a time, either the charger or headphone jack. Depending on which way the splitter into the charging case will decide which function you get, either charge your phone, or connect to the audio through the headphone jack, never both at the same time. The charging case also only works about 70% of the time. Many times while having the case on my phone AND plugged into a charging cable to a power outlet and neither will charge. The only way to fix this is to temporarily remove my phone from the charge case to "reset" it. A few times while having the case charging my phone, it would make my phone extremely hot.

I am leaving my previous review in to clarify the issue I originally had. On Dec.13th the vendor reached out via email to offer resolution. On Dec. 16th I received a replacement battery case. This is outstanding customer service and a great credit to the company. They also stated their intent to stand being the new case warranty as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AND THE VENDOR!! *************************************************** I Purchased this battery case for an iPhone 8 on August 1, 2021. I was very careful to install the phone into the case per directions to avoid any kind of side loading on the case lightning plug. The only time the case lightning port has been used it’s just daily plugging in the charging cable. In spite of that care, on November 20 the case would not except a charge. When I removed the case, carefully, and plugged the lightning cable into the phone directly, the phone accepted the charge readily as it should. I contacted Amazon customer service and told them that the battery case had essentially failed. I was told that the 90 day warranty for the case expired at the end of October, so the case was no longer under warranty. So, essentially I have a battery case with a 90 day warranty that failed 20 days after the warranty expired! When I examined the case it was obvious that the internal lightning plug on the case that mated with the phone was loose and wobbling. Apparently, this set up an intermittent connection that would not conduct properly. Given that the phone was installed carefully and properly and the only stress that the battery case lightning port saw was just daily insertion and removal of the charging cable, I can only conclude that the lightning port design of this case is very fragile. AVOID THIS CASE!

It is annoying if my iPhone runs out of energy in the middle of the day when I am web surfing or listening to podcasts, but it is far worse for me if I run out while depending on GPS navigation. I bought this battery case specifically to extend battery life while using a hiking application. I find that I can fully recharge my phone twice using the battery case while running the hiking navigation application. This will give me at least three hours of hiking, which is plenty for me. Your run time may vary. I had planned to remove the case after hiking, but I have gotten used to having a reserve energy supply for my daily use, and so far the case has remained on the phone. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product and its pricing. My only concern is that I have no way to contact the manufacturer with support questions, see oddities below. Pros It works. It extends the operating time for the phone. The battery case has much more energy than the built-in iPhone battery. The iPhone and battery battery case both charge automatically when connected to the wall charger. You do not need to remove the phone from the case to charge the phone or the battery. The case is a perfect fit for my iPhone 6s. The phone with battery case fits into my existing belt holster. There is a convenient charge status indicator on the back of the case. There are printed instructions included with the case. Additional instructions and specifications are printed on the inside of the case. Cons The battery case is heavy. The case is a tight fit on the phone and that makes it a little difficult to install and remove. You are warned not to force the phone into the case at an angle to avoid damaging the lightning connector. The case recharges slowly from the wall charger. It usually takes overnight to get a full charge. When the iPhone battery is low, you need to manually initiate the recharge by pressing a button on the back of the case. The battery case will automatically terminate the recharge when the iPhone is fully charged. Oddities There is no manufacturer name or contact information on the package. There is no manufacturer name or contact information on the battery case. There was a small card included in the package with installation instructions on one side and the phrase "iPhone Battery Case Manufacturer" printed on the other side.
