I ordered this a couple of months ago, as the regular plunger I had proved to be useless. This looked like a good option which was less likely to cause issues than some which blow bursts of pressure into the toilet, so I ordered it. This morning it had a chance to prove itself and it *really* does work, without a bunch of fuss and without the usual water backsplash. The holder stores it out of sight, which I think is nice. I'm really pleased with this purchase but may put a bolt through the plunger head and handle where they join as some reviewers have mentioned that it can come apart while being vigorously used.

I bought this with skepticism, as I had a bad clog in one of my low flow toilets. Even when you open the box and see it for in "real time" I was like "I probably wasted my money". Well, despite having used a standard plunger numerous times to no avail, I tried this crazy looking plunger and it worked in literally two minutes. To be clear - this is a different "beast" from the typical "straightforward" plunger, and you do not use it the same way. That being said - it was not "rocket science" to figure out, and after maybe after a minute or two of figuring it out, it was a cinch. I mean.....there are plenty of excellent instructional youtube videos if you somehow cannot wrap your head around it. Great innovative bathroom "tool". I will eventually purchase one for each of my bathrooms.

This worked great on most clogs, only very deep clogs couldn’t be reached. For other more everyday uses the squeegee seems to provide a better cleaning, faster flush

We ordered this in 2023 and didn't need it until today, in late 2024. We had a TERRIBLE clog in our basement toilet. The terrible doody water was filling the toilet to the rim. Hubby used the traditional plunger for about 15 minutes and accomplished nothing but splashing the revolting mess all over the toilet and floor. Then, a miracle. We went looking in the deep storage for a snake we thought we might have and instead found THE TOILETSHROOM. It took 5 seconds to put together and about 15 seconds to understand exactly how to use it. Then a further 15 seconds for it to PERFECTLY clear the clog. I will be buying this thing as a housewarming gift forever. The only note would be that I wish the handle was about 3 inches longer, just to keep the ol' fingers a little further distance from the potential Poopdom.

This tool is superior to a plunger -- you can toss your plunger if you buy this. To get the best outcome, you need to insert and operate at a 45-degree rather than a 90-degree angle like you would with a plunger. Works great, especially in combination with baking soda/vinegar/boiling water treatment.

I had given the Shroom a 5 star review initially, but a couple of years later I have had two Shrooms break-off in different toilets. The more recent of the breaks was a brand new Shroom. Here is what new users (and the unsuspecting) need to know. Most importantly, the Shroom will eventually break off in your toilet. When it breaks, the entire rubber portion separates from the metal handle. It may be hard to conceptualize, but having the rubber portion of the device jammed into the relatively small and, therefore, tight waste outflow hole is very difficult to rectify. The first time this happened to me, I had to scoop out the remaining poopy water so I could get a pair of channel locks on the rubber plug. Though I could get a good grip on the plug, I could barely pull it out as I did not have the benefit of the broken-off metal handle. My second broken device was such that I could not get a good grip on the rubber plug. The Shroom had been inserted all the way into the toilet. Tremendous stress was required to pull it back out and the device was at its most vulnerable angle. As with the first break, the entire rubber part broke off from the metal handle. This time the rubber plug was deeper into the waste flow pipe and there was nothing to grip with pliers, vice grips, or channel locks. We ended up disconnecting the toilet from the floor and taking it to the backyard to perform major surgery. In the end, even with the toilet fully disassembled, we could not pull the plug out. Attempts to push the rubber plug through from the underside also failed. We ended up wasting a total of 10 hours, made a disgusting mess of our bathroom, and had to buy and install a new toilet. For these reasons and despite the irony that I had initially been a huge Shroom fan, I would suggest that anyone considering purchasing a Shroom, instead, stick with the older, slower, sometimes splashy toilet plunger technology. I bought this about a year ago, and I have appreciated having it. Many times, it clears clogs more cleanly and easily than a traditional, splash-prone plunger. However, I recently noticed cracks that had formed on both sides of the rubber part just below the handle. Now I don't dare use it, because of all the reviews that talk about the bottom part breaking off in the toilet drain hole. I guess I'll have to throw it away. I wish it had been more durable, and I'm not sure I dare buy another one.
