My husband's work boots were - just yuck. The whole back entry where we store our shoes became a very unpleasant place to walk through. I thought I'd give these a try and they worked fabulously. He suggested we order another set and I will likely do that in the near future. They did not mask the smell, they removed it, leaving the entryway much fresher-smelling. They were a nice strong material so they have held up well. I may try adding some essential oil to them to see if they can still help a bit on lesser projects. I was really impressed and would recommend them to anyone.

I toss them in after every practice and game and the difference is real, no more moisture, no more smell. They're easy to use and clearly built for exactly this use case. he Boot Bananas Original Shoe Deodorizer has worked really well for keeping my athletic shoes fresh. They’re easy to use — just stick them in your shoes after wearing, and they start neutralizing odors right away. Over time I’ve noticed a big reduction in that musty smell that builds up after workouts or long days on my feet. I appreciate that these are reusable and eco‑conscious — no more wasting disposable inserts every few weeks. They seem durable, and I like that the pair is supposed to last 6–12 months. They don’t make your shoes smell like a strong fragrance; instead, they simply freshen the air and neutralize odors, which is exactly what I want. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that they take a little time to fully neutralize stronger odors in very smelly shoes. For regular everyday use, though, they’re excellent and definitely worth it.

These are a lifesaver! My kids are competitive cheerleaders, and as any cheer mom knows, cheer shoes can be a real stinker. I bought these at the last minute to save her shoes, and to my surprise, the smell was completely gone! They’re great at absorbing moisture and are also pretty cute. The $10 I spent on these saved me from replacing a fairly new pair of cheer shoes because I couldn’t stand the smell anymore.

My kid's feet are super stinky. We supervise washing, we provide multiple pairs of shoes and make sure he rotes them, and do natural fiber socks. Still: so stinky!!! These have made an enormous improvement in closet conditions. Imma buy like five more sets. Also: bonus points for the natural charcoal option, as we're soon to add a puppy in the house who will likely fixate on my son's shoes.

I’ve used Amazon for a decade and this is my first time leaving a review. That is how absolutely stoked I am about these bananas. I go to the gym directly after work. When I get to the gym and I take my work boots off, I can very quickly smell that boot/foot smell filling the entrance of the gym. I didn’t want to be known as the smelly boot guy at the gym so I bought a spray boot deodorizer off of Amazon. The spray would make the boot smell nice immediately after spraying it but the freshness would not stay. It was the same as spraying your boot with some febreeze. After a few weeks with the spray I went back to Amazon to try something else. That’s when I ordered the Boot Bananas. It only took a day or two of leaving them in my boots overnight for me to notice the difference. The fresh smell from the bananas lasts and it is extremely effective. Now when I take my boots off in the gym, there is no immediate smell other than the deodorizer scent of the bananas from the night before. If you are having any similar issues with smelly boots or shoes I highly recommend this product!
