Pretty happy with these. The pad eyes are very good and have common spacing so they make great replacements. I bought them for the second time recently. The first ones all worked perfectly. The rivets pulled tight and broke off flush with the head. The second time I used them the rivets pulled tight but the stem broke off down inside the rivet. That was on a different kayak. It might be an issue with the thickness of the kayak. I used some back-up plastic an a couple of pad eyes and rivets did not expand properly. Pop rivets are designed for a specific grip range so that's probably the issue. Can't see in there so I hope they hold. ... show more

These are perfect for rigging a kayak. The rivets work much better than screws in plastic. I used these to set up an anchor trolley and other tie down points on a Pelican. Easy to install drill a 3/16 hole, apply a coat of silicone and rivet pad eye to hull. The rivet has a rubber gasket that seals between the rivet and pad eye and the silicone seals between the pad eye and boat hull. Three squeezes of the rivet tool and they are set for good. ... show more

I have had no problem with the pad eyes or the rivets when used with the pad eyes. I did try to use the rivets to install a rod holder and they did not break off clean. That is all my fault. Use the rivets with the pad eyes and you should be good. Very study for plastic. Also make sure to use Marine Sealant. After drilling the holes, cover them with a good amount of sealant and then use the rivets. Give it 24 hours for the sealant to dry and you will be good to go. ... show more
