  • Most comfortable brace I've ever worn, after many hours I forgot I was wearing it, highly recommend
Size: Large
I've had back problems for decades. It comes and goes, and fortunately when it comes, a back brace usually provides immediate relief and makes the pain bearable. Moreover, it actually helps push everything back in line and often after a few hours of wearing a brace, I can remove it and go on with the rest of my day without it. I was having so much trouble 10+ years ago I bought half a dozen different brands of braces, hoping to find the perfect one. For me, that turned out to be Meuller. It worked so well I bought two more of them and it's been my go-to brace ever since. I keep one in the car, one in the bedroom, and one in the family room, so if I have a problem, there's one handy. If you have back problems, you'll understand. When it goes out on you, you want a brace nearby. This Bodyprox brace is the most comfortable one I've ever worn. I put it on to try it out and could immediately feel the excellent support it provided. I left it on and wore it for most of the day. I sat down in the evening to watch a movie, and it was a while before I realized I still had it on! With my Meuller, that doesn't happen; it's not as tall as the Bodyprox and it will feel like it's cutting into me if I sit down with it. I then remove it, as I normally don't need the brace when I'm sitting. I could comfortably wear the Bodyprox all day. It gives good support, and due to its height (taller than most) it feels much more comfortable. I will have to qualify my review a tiny bit: since receiving the brace, I have not had any significant flair up with my back, so I can't say for sure if the Bodyprox will provide relief as well as the Meuller. But I have enough experience (unfortunately) wearing braces that I'm pretty sure it will do the trick, and do so more comfortably for longer periods of time. The only caution about the Bodyprox brace is this: it's a little challenging to get on. With the Meuller, it has four straps; in effect, it has two layers of straps. So you pull the main one over to the other side and attach the velcro, then you repeat the process two more times with the smaller outer straps to further tighten the brace as needed. That makes it easier to put on, even though it takes a few seconds longer; you don't have to get it stretched around you all the way on the first strap attachment, because you have two more outer straps that let you "dial it in," or cinch it up as tight a you need. With the Bodyprox, it's just one attachment. At first, I was afraid I was going to have to return it and get the next bigger size, but then I sucked in my gut and really pulled hard to get the two sides to overlap and attach. There isn't much margin for error, so I have two tips: 1. Make sure you measure yourself exactly as they direct in the sizing graphic (with the photos on this page). If in doubt, move up to the next larger size. You'll be able to overlap and get it to fasten, as long as it's not crazy long. If you're in the top half of their 10 cm range, you might be better off getting the next size. I measured 112 cm and felt like I was up a couple pounds from my normal weight (and a couple dozen pounds from where I was a year ago! Definitely there's going to be a New Year's resolution coming!) so I decided I'd get the Large size which is specified as 100-110 cm. Their chart is very accurate! I have to use a bit more effort than I'd like to fasten the brace. I do expect to knock a least 2" or 5 cm off my waist in the next several months, or I would probably return this for the next larger size, but unless I get even heavier, it's going to be fine for me. 2. You might find it easier to put on if someone helps you. I almost asked my wife to help me, but I found that with some more effort, I could stretch it far enough to attach. If you don't have anyone around who can help you, then my first suggestion is even more important: get it big enough (but not too big). You need a brace to be tight for it to be effective. EDIT: One last note: I see that one reviewer gave this a 1-star review because he measured it and it was shorter than the recommended waist size. OMG! Please ignore that rating and review. To be effective a back brace needs to STRETCH! Of course it's going to be shorter than the listed waist sizes; after you stretch it to fasten the velcro, it is significantly longer. This isn't like a belt that you just thread through your pants belt loops and fasten. You need to stretch this to get the support it provides. You DO need to recognize this when you order, which I've stated above. Most of the other reviewers and I found this belt to be appropriately sized. If in doubt, move up to the next size, but don't expect it to be the length stated; it has to stretch to provide support. And don't go by your waist size! They don't tell you to do that. To the contrary, follow the instructions listed in the size chart: "Measure the circumference of your abdomen immediately below your navel." When I did that it was several inches longer than the waist size of my pants. And athough my belt is definitely a snug fit, it works. So, bottom line: this is an excellent brace. It appears to be well designed and well constructed. As someone who is a lot more familiar with back braces than I'd like to be, I can give this my 5-star seal of approval. Full Disclosure: I received this product at no charge through Amazon's Vine program in return for writing an honest, accurate product review. Amazon's only requirement is that I review the products I order, not that I praise them. I don't pull my punches; if a product is bad, I say so, and if I love it, I say that. I have an obligation to tell you, the shopper, what I think so you can make informed purchases. I also believe sellers/manufacturers need to know if their product deserves 5 stars, or if they missed the mark, how they need to improve it. ... show more

  • Comfortable brace but runs small
Size: XX-Large
This brace is breathable, comfortable and offers great support. I've worn it multiple hours now and it isn't rubbing anywhere it shouldn't and it's causing any pressure pain. As others have mentioned though, it runs quite small. Because I've had issues with sizing on items like this being too small, I decided to go a full size up even though I should've been able to easily fit an XL. If you get the size dialed in correctly, it's a great brace. ... show more

  • Great back support for moving heavy things, immediately threw out my old one
Size: Large
When I had surgery, I read the paperwork that read my body type was "round". I'm not the smallest guy so finding a back brace that works for me it a bit harder. I've had the same back brace for many years that is shorter than this one and the front would curl up under my belly and cause discomfort and I would have to readjust it frequently. I almost look forward to my next move. Almost. This back brace is great! It's much taller and firmer in the front where it attaches and will not curl in the front. It seems very well constructed and very strong! It comes with a gel-pack like lumbar support that is very soft and helps with added comfort around the spine. The mesh is large which will allow for a lot more breathability than the one I had before with a smaller mesh size. The only dislike I have is it is not clear exactly where or how the orientation of the lumbar support is supposed to be. It attaches with velcro and stays in place, but originally it was packaged spanning left to right, but I would believe it is supposed to be up and down so the nubs go to the sides of your spine. ... show more

  • Indeed breathable
Size: X-Large
I received this item for free from Vine. My partner sometimes has lower back issues and his job requires lots of heavy lifting. I ordered him this cuz he uses back braces regularly and having a breathable one for hot days seemed like it would be nice. He tried it and it works great as a brace and is breathable as advertised. He looks forward to using this during the summer. ... show more

  • Sizing off
Size: Large
The sizing chart needs to be revised. I normally wear a size Medium back brace i picked up from the local walmart. I even sized up for this one and got a Large. It fits slightly smaller than my Medium. The manufacturer needs to accommodate for the western market and re-label their sizes, we're all a bit bigger here. So for now, I can only comment on what I have. Order 1-2 sizes up from your normal. Other than the sizing, it's a pretty good breathable brace. I wanted this for the summer months when wearing a back brace makes me sweaty when I'm doing anything strenuous. It's 'low support' brace, there isn't metal braces for support. The massaging nodes pad is new to me, it feels nice to have that, but I don't always want it. Good thing they have velcro so you can remove it. The good: - breathable mesh - nice velcro - removable 'massage' pad nodes The not so good: - sizing chart is way off - low support ... show more

  • Just what I needed
Size: XX-Large
The back brace was useful to move items around the house without causing pain. The quality is on par for the the desired function. I have worn in 4 times at a duration of 8 hours per use and found it comfortable, helpful and noticed a marked improvement in my lack of back pain. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to lift heavy items on a short or long term basis. ... show more

  • This is nice but did not fit.
Size: XX-Large
Although the quality seemed great in this, it ran smaller and was too tight. Normally a 2XL in any other product but could not get this to stay securely around my waist without it being super uncomfortable. the quality of the craftmanship is decent, it just needs to be more adjustable for various sized 2XL folks. ... show more
