for starters the price is about the same on average for windsor and newtons 2nd tier paints if your looking at the 200ml tubes and thats a great price considering...............WWWWWOOOOOWWWW!!!! the quality of these paints are AMAZING!!! like for real...I started an online course about 5 years ago with Bob (Prime Video) and after about a year ive been consistently selling paintings at art shows in town ever since. I began with 2nd tier windsor and newton brand paints (i.e. not the most expensive) and like i said have done well but these paints are a game changer......short version.......right away you can see how with dry paints like these that all the techniques Bob taught you work sooooooo much better. and the colors all mix together so well Especially when using yellows and greens almost like they are made for each other. Oh and the Mountian Mix is a nice little bonus to have....adds consistincy to backround colors and saves on your other dark colors and when you run out just buy another tube. I spent alot of time and money trying to match the paints bob was using with W/N brand and i should have been using Bobs paints years ago.....Ahhhh Duhh$%^&*#........BUY THESE PAINTS!!!!! ... show more

    • $240.00 - 14 200ml Tubes of firm Oil Paint weighing 6.76 oz each TO THE POST OFFICE!?! Wow!
In all fairness, I haven't gotten my order yet. But I do know that they are costly materials. As a regular artist and consumer, I use a specific paint. The paint is "firm" to fit with the wet-on-wet technique that Ross used. I'm noting in advance that I'm more than a little concerned when 14 200ml tubes of paint are going to be stuffed in a standard residential mailbox. But I'll wait and see. I do so hope that it goes off without a hitch... ... show more

If you are getting into Bob Ross' wet on wet technique, and think you will stick with it, this set represents the best value for the money by far. Far cheaper than buying the tubes color by color through the major suppliers.
