for starters the price is about the same on average for windsor and newtons 2nd tier paints if your looking at the 200ml tubes and thats a great price considering...............WWWWWOOOOOWWWW!!!! the quality of these paints are AMAZING!!! like for real...I started an online course about 5 years ago with Bob (Prime Video) and after about a year ive been consistently selling paintings at art shows in town ever since. I began with 2nd tier windsor and newton brand paints (i.e. not the most expensive) and like i said have done well but these paints are a game changer......short version.......right away you can see how with dry paints like these that all the techniques Bob taught you work sooooooo much better. and the colors all mix together so well Especially when using yellows and greens almost like they are made for each other. Oh and the Mountian Mix is a nice little bonus to have....adds consistincy to backround colors and saves on your other dark colors and when you run out just buy another tube. I spent alot of time and money trying to match the paints bob was using with W/N brand and i should have been using Bobs paints years ago.....Ahhhh Duhh$%^&*#........BUY THESE PAINTS!!!!! ... show more

Wish price was lower but with that said for the paint and the quality the value is there, compared to all the other type of paint that is cheaper you can definitely tell. Overall very satisfied with the quality based on claims the way it's supposed to be matches head on. Compared to the big sizes 200ml versus the small 37ml a Bob Ross paint seems the smaller one has a lot more oil in it then the 200ml , I don't know if this is normal. But using the same colors the smaller one seems it does have more oil . ... show more

Update 2: I am reducing to 1 star. Turns out I didn't receive 4 of the colors in the product photo! So adding to the list of disappointments =( I want to start saying I am not a professional artist by any stretch, but I am also not new to oil painting. I only decided to get this set because I wanted these colors to try some bob ross tutorials (huge fan!) and figured it would be good quality set going to the source. My biggest issue is (now) three fold: I didn't receive all of the paints pictured, it was missing 4 tubes of paint altogether. Then, the tubes for cad yellow hue and Vandyke Brown weren't fully sealed on the bottom and during shipping/storage oil seeped out of the tube and into the box. It's annoying because it changes the consistency of the paint and it is messy. Update 1: After looking more closely and unrolling the bottom of the tubes there are multiple holes in 3 or 4 of the tubes. I am thinking I'll send these back since this quality is just unacceptable at this price. Second, every tube (except titanium white) had the pigment separate from the oil in the tube. When I squeezed it out onto the pallet it was runny and inconsistent. I've heard you are supposed to shake them when they're like this, so I did and two more tubes leaked out of the bottom crimp while shaking. I then tried just kneading the tubes and was never able to get them to mix. Lastly I tried a toothpick and kind of made a mess, but the top was able to mix. All in all, I kind of wish I had just bought some more Gamblin paints if I was going to spend this much money, as I've never had this problem with them. I've read other reviews that say these paints may have sat on a shelf for an extended period, and maybe that's true, either way it is disappointing and I would have rather not purchased them. ... show more

Excellent packaging, quality and condition of the paint. Most importantly, and price.. However, Since my purchase on 02/11/2022, the prices have increased by $40 which questions the value for the money. Product quality is excellent.
