I bought this product to replace a transom saver I destroyed on our terrible Western Colorado roads when it fell loose from the trailer carrying my 14' fishing skiff with a 25hp motor. This Sebnux product falls into the same design category: a horseshoe-shaped jaw sits on the back roller of the trailer, a square, hollow aluminum shaft extends up from it to a V-shaped set of jaws upon which the motor's bottom end rests. I've had to shorten that shaft on this product because it was too long for my motor and trailer, but with a good drill and a metal-cutting blade on a jig saw that's no problem. The V-jaws aren't a perfect fit for my motor, but they work. The motor is secured to the V-jaws by a trucker-type bungee, and the bungee enclosed with the package is appropriately sized and works fine. The lower jaw is an exact size match for the center of my trailer's back roller - great! But I do have a couple of criticisms. First, the plate that holds the V-jaws has two holes (for the bungee) - fine. But to tie the transom saver down to the trailer frame - essential! - I had to drill two more holes for bungee attachments. The product ought to ship with four holes in that plate, not two. And second, the instructions are a typical Chinese-to-English computer translation, meaning they're hilariously useless. If you're not already familiar with transom savers and not good at DIY stuff you'll have some difficulty figuring out how to assemble the product and put it to use. These two criticisms are the reasons for the four-star rating. But the product is well-fitted and stout, and should serve well if you can work out how to assemble and use it.
