  • Great for my needs
Size: SP200-200W
I got this to charge my Bluetti power bank and they worked well. I used gaffers tape along the bottom edge to help protect the cloth when placing on rocky ground. Used microfiber soft cloth to wipe dust off. Easy for me to erect, fold up and carry/ lift up into vehicle. I also bought 20ft extension cables so I didn't have to remove the power bank from my vehicle. Excellent connection to cables but to protect even more from desert dust I just enclosed the connections in a plastic sleeve and secured with electrical tape. Two years later they are still looking new. ... show more

  • Zero output after two seasons of sailing
Size: SP120-120W
I bought one of these in December 2021, and another last year November 2022 because I was so happy with the first one. Unfortunately, now neither of them will put out any wattage whatsoever. I'm sailing in Mexico and used these to charge my EB70 which I used to run a Starlink dish while at anchor, so it's possibly due to daily folding / unfolding in addition to a salt water environment, but overall I'm not happy with the longevity. I took one apart to look for loose or corroded wires that I could solder/repair somehow, and couldn't find any explanation for them just not putting out any charge. I suppose if you baby them, they're great. But they're not a great value if you need to use them in a harsher environment. ... show more

  • Great Output in a Small Lightweight Package
Size: SP120-120W
TLDR: I highly recommend this panel due to its' quality construction, power output, and form factor. It's on the higher end in terms of price but I feel that it is justified and has good value. The two year warranty helps allay some doubts about construction and performance. I hope that they will consider making a smaller form factor that can be more readily fit in a backpack. Details: With Bluetti being more known for their portable battery generators I wasn't sure what to expect from this solar panel. But when I picked it up, it was readily apparent that it was of a high quality. Instead having USB connections and using various DC ports like the other panels on the market, there is only a weatherized enclosure from which the MC4 connectors are connected on a long cable. This is a much better option since it allows for several panels to connected and that they can be used in wet conditions. From the pictures, it is very easy deploy this panel which you can unfold it like an accordion, kick out the legs, and set the panel at an appropriate angle. Some other panels are not this easy to deploy. Power Output: During my research to find a more portable solar solution many panels I have tested, and ultimately returned, did not meet their rated nominal power output. I am glad to report that this is not the case. With optimum lighting, i.e. perfectly clear sky, I was consistently getting between 6.2 to 6.6 amps from the panel. This is right in line with their quoted rating. After my charge controller that is used to charge my lithium iron phosphate batteries at 14.6 volt, I obtained reading at around 8 amps. Doing the math and we have 116 watts. Also these panels still perform well in cloudy conditions. Form Factor: This panel is very portable with overall dimensions of 16.3" length and 16.1" width. This in conjunction with how lightweight it is makes for a very good solar solution. It is much easier to setup than the the Renogy Eclipse 100 watt Suitcase that I also have. The Renogy Eclipse is the newer more light weight version that has been optimized resulting in folded dimensions of 21" length and 21" width and a weight of just under 20 pounds. In the pictures I have placed the Bluetti panel alongside the Renogy. It is simply amazing how small the Bluetti panel is compared the more conventional panel construction. Construction/Longevity: The Bluetti is an ETFE laminated panel constructed from Sunpower cells using a durable fabric that appears to be abrasion resistant. The construction and the underlying efficiency of the solar cells afford the Bluetti panel its' leghtweight and form factor. On the ETFE layer there is dimpling and apparently that is to help performance. At this time I am unsure of the longevity of the Bluetti in comparison to a more conventional panel like the Renogy but the fact that there is a explicitly stated 2 Year Warranty is another thing that helps to separate it from the other options. ... show more

  • The Bluetti SP200 uses SunPower cells. How does it compare to the Bluetti PV200?
Size: SP200-200W
I have many Bluetti products, including the SP120, SP200 and PV200 solar panels. I did a comparison between the SP200 and PV200 panels charging two Bluetti EB70. The red EB70 was charged with a single SP200, and the mint green EB70 was charged with a single PV200. The day was mostly sunny with clouds interfering here and there. The two biggest differences between the SP200 and PV200 are as follows: The Bluetti SP200 is made with SunPower cells wired in series, and the kickstand is not truly adjustable. These panels work best in full sun, as if there is even the slightest bit of shade from a cloud or a shadow, the wattage drops dramatically, and sometimes completely. The Bluetti PV200 cells are wired in parallel, which is better for cloudy days. I show a photo of two PV200s that were used to charge two Bluetti AC30s, and even though they got shaded at one point, when I went down to move them, they were still charging the AC30s. They have adjustable kickstands with multiple angle settings. The photos show the SP200 and PV200 panels set out in full sun, and the two EB70s with the panels and resulting watts. The red EB70 is being charged with the SP200 and the mint green EB70 is being charged with the PV200. They were both at ~60% state of charge at the start. As you can see from the photos, In full sun the SP200s shine, and won this particular race to charge, though it was a fairly close race. In the additional photos I show how two PV200s are extremely shaded and yet were still producing. An SP200 would not likely produce anything with this much shade on the panels. The last few photos are from Bluetti and show the adjustable kickstand on the PV200 and the difference in productivity when there is shade. Both panels are very high quality, and both are "best in class" depending on your application. I love having the choice to use the SP200s on those clear blue sky days, and the PV200s when there are lots of clouds. Most of the time you can expect to get around 160 - 170 watts from either panel. Yes, they are pricey, as all folding/portable panels are, but the convenience and compactness are worth considering, especially for camping or RV/van life. If you need portable panels, look no further. ... show more
