  • Using off-grid, works great
Bought AC500 and 2 B300S batteries. Working great off-grid for five months. I'm well into winter temps and I notice batteries drain faster on winter nights. The system is in an insulated shed with a propane heater (Heater Buddy) with the pilot light on. This keeps everything from freezing. The thing with so-called self-heating batteries is that even though the system will take steps to heat them before it charges them, this effects the durability of the batteries--I'm trying to avoid this. I have generator backup as well, and the system (with a full solar panel setup), has reduced my gas usage by 90%. Batteries have gone to zero a few times, but I'm recharging them within a day and so far have had ZERO troubles. Please note that this is a big-ticket, very heavy item. Bluetti does make good products but has not yet become the kind of company with easy return policies or great customer service. Even the written documentation for the products I've bought has been weak. The best tech support available is on the Facebook group. A very helpful and expert group of people will help. And someone there will reach out to Bluetti for more help if needed. ... show more

  • Sent 2 defective items, no resolution
AC500 + B300S - The system worked fine until it was left idle for a month. Unbeknownst to me, there was a flaw in the B300S that did not allow it to completely power off. The battery completely drained and was unable to charge back up, even using different charging methods (solar, AC, or DC). I requested a refund, but was persuaded by customer service to try to get it working. I worked with customer service for over a month trying to troubleshoot. Customer service was slow, but tried their best to resolve the issue. I sent back the B300S, which was replaced. The new B300S would not power off (again), therefore draining the battery completely. I am now initiating a return with Bluetti, but they are charging me a 10% fee for "usage time", which is a joke--and a significant amount for a purchase this large! Had they just honored my original return request, I would not be out many hours of frustration and several hundred dollars. ... show more

  • Lithium Battery
Having solar power since 2012 I purchased the AC500 because my AGM battery bank was getting weaker with age. Not knowing much about lithium batteries I put the AC500 out in my workshop but soon found out lithium batteries don’t like the cold weather and that caused both the grid and solar panels to not charge the Lithium battery. I will say that because I purchased from Amazon I received expert technical support. I put the AC500 in my warm house and that has made a great improvement on charging lithium battery. It is also important to download the latest Firmware to keep the AC500 running efficiently. ... show more

  • Far better than a gas generator
This power station is expensive, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. It's far easier to use than a gas generator and much safer. I have it as backup power when we occasionally lose power due to inclement weather.

  • Powerful Unit.
I purchased this unit to run my water well. I have had a transfer switch hooked to the house for a gas generator, and this hooks up to that input via the 50 amp plug. This unit runs my entire house minus the AC/heat. It works very well. Something important to remember. You MUST have the locks on the connecting cords between the AC500 and the 300S in the lock position. ( slides) if not, the unit will not turn on. I learned the hard way. ... show more

Does not work. Customer service will not call me back. To return must pay own shipping. Really wanted to love this product but do not see that happening unless they offer support. Will update my review IF they stand behind thier product.

  • Expensive but expandable, and would be handy for an RV or as a Powerwall alternative
I have the AC500 system. You'd be surprised how much electricity you use, and the app shows you your power consumption. I ended up buying a 2nd battery once I saw mine. Several years ago I built a small off grid system using lead acid batteries. It could barely run my fridge 24/7. It also had to be carefully checked and monitored to prevent damage to the battery bank. The Bluetti is as plug&play as it gets. It does all the monitoring and has great option like ups, to switch over during a power outage. This could be useful at a camp, where power is unreliable and you don't want your fridge to stop working when the power goes out. It recharges pretty fast from the grid and/or solar panels. I'm running a constant load of things around the house, balanced to where the batteries will easily last until morning when the solar panels will take over and have them fully recharged between 10 and 11AM the next morning; Fridge, home theater system, desktop computer, electric blanket, coffee maker, electric pancake grill, things like that. Pretty much things I use everyday. Our power company's website displays daily power use. I'm hovering at just over a $1 per day from them. Just don't expect to break even on your power bill vs the price of the AC500 system. I'm a bit of a survivalist and I know what it's like going up to 2 weeks without power (hurricanes - been there, done that.) Never again. And unlike a gas generator that uses up to 3 gallons a day for nonstop power, I don't have to store a large supply of gasoline. If/when we get an extended blackout, I'll be able to run the things I want/need 24/7 for as long as it takes to restore power. ... show more
