  • Excellent quality (and failure protected!) portable Power Station
Style: BLUETTI EB55
My first Bluetti product! As a retired electrical engineer, I tried to summarize what everyone wants to know: GOOD: +Hard cardboard outer shipping box and well designed product box gave fantastic shipping protection (and looked great!) +Quality of unit is outstanding. Fit/finish, buttons/connectors and LED display are all of high quality and work well +Easy to carry around (folding handle, stows to allow stacking flat items on top of unit); however, it is not a "light-weight" box +LiFePO4 batteries! Long battery life (and the best cycle life of any battery chemistry) +Double charging input capability (200W wall brick and 160W solar); can also charge from your vehicle's cig lighter port while driving +Bluetti put the very capable EB70 700/1400W full-sine inverter in this box. It was capable of running my small refridg/freezer (which has a 6.5 FLA/780W rating) for over 4 hours (87W running) or that fridge plus my eBike charger for 2+ hours, total 270W) +100W USB-C charging port can power/charge USB-C input laptops +After discharging to 20% (fridge/eBike charger loads) I was able to fully recharge the EB55 in 2+ hours with 200W of solar panels at 102F ambient (if temps were cooler it would have been 1+ hour) +Finally, the "lantern" light is MUCH more usable than the "flashlight" variety on other SoGens (Solar Generators, a term trademarked by Hobotech, excellent reviews AND purchasing discounts: https://hobotech.tv) BAD: -IF you need ... over 700W continuous AC power (you'll likely need a larger battery pack as well, e.g. EB150, EB240 or AC200P) ... over 500Wh capacity (buy a larger-capacity battery, e.g. EB70 at 700Wh or any of those mentioned above) ... to know the exact amount of charge left on the battery, the LED display does not show % of charge directly, it just has a 5-bar display (20% each bar); if you never discharge below ~20% then no big deal ... two 100W USB-C ports (buy the EB70!) ... silent charging (AC brick fan runs continuously, MPPT solar charge controller runs the internal fans) -You can't use a residential/business solar panel since the VOC of those panels is too high for the EB55 solar input; just get ~200W of a standard "12V" hard panel (e.g. BOUGERV 200w) or a suitcase/folding type (Renogy 200W/Bluetti SP200-do not use the charge controllers provided on these, wire straight from the solar panels!) SUMMARY: Highly recommended if your loads/capacities are within the limits of the box. This will last you a LONG time and Bluetti is very responsive to issues/warranty (likely will never need service!) Instruction booklet error: LCD SCREEN GUIDE "How to operate on power station to turn ON/OFF ECO Mode/and change the working frequency" section appears to have been copied directly from the EB70. To enter the settings mode you press the AC and [lower USB!] DC buttons, EB70 only has one DC power button, EB55 has two-the USB DC switch is the one to use to enter/set the menu. Finally I recommend you join the "Bluetti Portable Power Station" Facebook group. You may have a question that others are thinking about (or has already been answered)! ... show more

  • Just what I needed in a quality product
Style: BLUETTI EB55
I purchased this EB55 sogen from Amazon and received it in 8 days. I have 3 other Bluetti sogens and love them. Quality products. I preferred purchasing this model instead of the EB70 because of the complaints owners of the EB70 had about the barely visible lights on the on/off buttons and they couldn't tell if the power was on or not, sometimes unknowingly draining their batteries while sitting. Plus, this has the same 700W inverter that I wanted, though less total Wh, but enough for my purpose. It can charge at a maximum 400W using both solar and AC input so it can get to a full charge in under 1.5 hrs. My AC50S can only charge at 122W which is now painfully slow compared to this model. The solar input uses an XT60 connector at the plug and MC4 connectors at the solar panel end. This adapter is included with the unit along with a car charger (also XT60 connector) and the AC charger, which uses the 8mm barrel plug. The AC brick supplies up to 205W and your solar panels an additional 200W. This will only accept 12 - 28V DC solar input so you cannot use 2 panels in series. The instruction manual says to put 2 or more panels in parallel to reach the max of 200W input. I am using two, 100W panels in parallel and on a clear, bright sunny day, I get 135W max input from them and up to 335W total with both panels and AC input. The EB55 is almost the same size as my AC50S and weighs in at 16 lbs. Nice and portable. The other thing that I wanted on this unit was the 100W PD port. It has 4 x 110V pure sign wave AC plugs, two are 3-prong and 2 are 2 prongs. There are 4 USB-A ports, two barrel port DC plugs, and one cigarette lighter port. The DC ports are regulated at 13.4V, IIRC. There is a lantern light on the back side that is a nice feature. We had a night time power outage 3 days ago and this lantern light, plus the one on the AC50S, helped me find my way to my other lights and extension cords to get set up. As said before, this has a 700W inverter. I was able to draw up to 650W for at least 30 minutes with no problem. I didn't have any other items to plug in that would get me around the 700W mark. Other reviewers on this product demonstrated that they were able to draw and sustain a little more than 700W. This unit uses LiFePO4 batteries that should last for 2500 full cycles to 80% and is rated for 537Wh. I checked the capacity first fully charging the battery and then discharging through an AC plug at a .6C rate, which gave me 420Wh out of 537Wh, or 78% efficiency. Then recharged it and discharged at a .3C rate and got 460Wh, or almost an 86% efficiency rate. Overall, this is a very nice, well featured unit and a great bang for the buck. ... show more

  • This unit is small but powerful and extremely useful.
Style: BLUETTI EB55
I bought the Bluetti EB55 as a preview to my AC300 purchase which will be delivered in November. The EB55 has many outlets including a Wireless smartphone charging pad on the top. It is the smallest and newest power station for its capacity and that uses the best cell chemistry LiFePo ( Lithium Iron Phosphate) available for home use because it does not suffer from thermal problems as with older chemistry. It comes with its own 200 watt AC to DC charger ( with integrated cooling fans) and two extra cables for vehicle (12V) and for solar panel charging, limited to 24 volts. The case is plastic and very sturdy with an integrated flat folding handle. This unit can be placed sidewards if needed as long as the vents are not blocked. This battery will not leak. For camping and portable power needs it is the right size. I have charged it with the includes device, and I am waiting for a new Amazon order for the 200 watt solar panel to test that method of charging. The output is limited to 750 watts which is more that enough for small appliances and devices. Anything over will trip its Internal breaker but by powering off and on again will reset it. So if you need up to 750 watts for a while or for a total of 550 watt-hours, the EB55 is the best for its price. Bluetti has been on the market for over ten years, and now offers large modular batteries (3 kwh) and controllers for home service, up to 6 kW for 220 VAC and add on batteries up to 24kwh, which can easily replace a gas generator for clean and quiet home power. Just add solar panels and this system will allow off-grid applications which is why I bought the AC300 system. ... show more
