A necessary tool for beginners in hydroponics. I’ve been using it to maintain the desired nutrient levels in my first dwc for the past 3 months with no complaints. It would have been nice if it came with a pouch to store it in but that’s not a big enough con for me to deduct a star from it.

Update: Meter worked well for 2 years, then can not calibrate. Has Temp error which prevents calibration and bricks the meter. I always take exceptional care of my equipment. I suppose paying $50 a year for use is a bit steep, but the meter was only warrantied for 1 year so I guess it made it. Even so, with care I expect a longer life. Ditching Blue lab and going with Apera meter. (The Apera ph meter worked much longer). Previous rating: If you want to KNOW what the PPM (in multiple scales) or EC is in a hydroponic system, this is the one you want. Reasonably priced and very accurate. Tested with a couple of different test solutions with consistent results. Only complaint is the display back light shuts off in only a few seconds. Would prefer it to be adjustable or last for more than three minutes so multiple readings can be taken. ... show more

Highly recommend this accurate and built to last EC/TDS meter. I use this meter daily for monitoring the TDS of hydroponic system and this meter is by far the best. I’ve had numerous other cheap and one 3 in 1 meter in the past and they all stopped working accurately after only a couple of months of use to the point the weren’t able to be recalibrated. The BlueLab EC/TDS meter works without fail every time and it has a replaceable battery!! ... show more

This EC meter is easy to use & Read.It feels like it is well built. you can get a $ 20 meter somewhere else but you will have replace every year or 2 . This company is great and has long lasting and accurate products. I use all their devices as I deal with a cash crop. I have tried other brands early on only to find them to be inaccurate and a short life. I have dealt with their customer service and they stayed in touch until a service check was done on one of my pens. It ended up that the pen was not faulty and the promptly returned my pen working flawlessly. I have come to trust bluelab’s product line and will not be changing where I choose to spend my money.
