The BLU G71+ is one of the newest unlocked phones on the market. I've had other BLU smartphones in the past, and this one is the best I've had yet. It comes with Android 11, which I'm quite excited about! I've been looking forward to this upgrade for a while, and the G71+ is perfect for my simple needs. Works as expected. Since it's an unlocked phone, I can choose to go with a no-contract carrier service (I use H2O Wireless which has cheap plans). This is an all-around great phone at an excellent price. The media could not be loaded. Blu has a reputation of being a decent budget brand and this handset continues that legacy. The first thing you notice is the display- surprisingly bright even in sunlight, and extremely vibrant for the price. Graphics and games are surprisngly fluid and sharp looking, it actually feels reminiscent of Motorola G series handsets. The performance is decent too: Geekbench 5 single core: 342 Multi Core: 1200 Those test scores aren't current flagship level, but are better than, say, the Pixel 3a series and actually competitive to flagships from not too long ago. Pretty close to a Snapdragon 835 in performance, like a Galaxy S8, yet much more battery friendly. The finger print reader is faster and more responsive than my Galaxy S10, but to be fair the S10 has the worst of the Galaxy fingerprint readers. It even comes with a case and screen protector so you are ready to go right out of the box! But the cameras... that's where the budget nature of this handset starts to show. The camera, despite having a large looking array, really feel low budget. Low light is a non-starter, I won't even bother sharing the noisy garbage that comes out of it. But even in good light, colors are washed out and there's a severe lack of dynamic range that clips highlights and shadows pretty quickly. See photo comparison of a yellow and red box taken next to an open window in my office. The Galaxy S10 and Pixel3A properly captured light from outside the window as well as some detail in the black batteries under the box. It shouldn't be a surprise that those pictures look similar straight out of the camera app, the Pixel and Galaxy S series have some of the best "standard by which others are judged" camera performance in the industry. The Blu phone, however, overexposed the window, lost all detail in the battery, and the colors just overall look bad compared to them. I also took a picture trying the "depth mode" of a keychain on my wood colored desk, and the bokeh effect is a mess. It doesn't make any sense, blurring out random parts of the wood grain pattern and not looking like real bokeh AT ALL. Basically, this is a decent phone with decent performance and a very nice sized and vivid display for the money! But if cameras are any kind of priority to you, look elsewhere. ... show more

    • Good as a give. 64gb story is ok, but it is expandable.
I bought this as a last minute gift. Overall, it has lasted a year. You can always buy a micro sd card since 64 GB of storage is not a lot. I remember when the old blu phones' screen would just mysteriously crack. Now the screen much better quality. Only con is that the software updates are not frequent. ... show more

This is my second BLU phone and I have been very happy with both. I love the size and feel of this phone and I see no problems with it. I would recommend this product.

    • Good phone fore price but has issues.
This phone is good for the price, but it does have one big problem. The GPS works half the time. I have been using the phone for 5 days now and I get a no GPS found about 4 time out of 10. Then when I do get a GPS signal it is off by 2 to 4 blocks about 5 times out of 10. It will show me not in the road but going though people house, yards and parks. I will be at point A and the GPS will show me at point D. The battery is OK. From 8am starting at 100% to 9pm ending up with 55% . That is form 3 phone calls that lasted around 1 minute each. sending and receiving 5 Texts and using the 4G for a little over 3 house. In all this is a good phone if you are a light user and if the GPS was reliable. And not having reliable GPS is a deal breaker for me so most likely I will be sending this phone back. ... show more

Big sharp screen, quality feel in your hand, excellent cameras, and all the features. As with all electronics, excellence becomes more affordable and available over time (TVs, computers, and cell phones etc.). I just wish I could use it on my Visible/Verizon account but I have to use it on T-Mobile which is not my main phone number. I highly recommend this phone! I think that it's impressive how good this phone is for the price, better than what you used to be able to get for a sub $150 price. If it was just 2-3 years ago, the specs of this phone would have cost around $250-300. I think that it's a good thing that a phone like this is more accessible to people with low income. It has a large display(6.5"), which seems to be the trend for all smartphones nowadays. The resolution is only HD+ (720p stretched to fit the aspect ratio), that is one noticeable cost cutting measure. That's not to say it is a bad screen, just that it won't be as sharp as most phones that use Full HD+. The performance is decent, it has a Unisoc processor and 4GB of Ram. Flagships smartphones are overpowered for the tasks that most people tend use their phones for. Messaging, Twitter, Instagram, and taking a few photos will not stress this device by very much. The image quality of the photos is basically disappointing, but you need to spend at least 2x (if not 3x) as this costs to get a phone that can take good quality photos. It requires a large image sensor and a better chip (like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7/8 series) to process the photos into something that is pleasant looking. To end on a positive note, you do get a case and charger in the box. It's pretty crazy that phones that cost this price include those things but Samsung and Apple don't provide them on phone that literally cost 10x the price of this (if you max out the storage and Ram). ... show more

This is our third Blu. Our Last one was still going strong after 3 years. The only reason we got a new one is to make the switch to 5g. Next to my galaxy note, this is the best android we've ever bought!
