Pros: As someone who has used many glucose machines, this is a great affordable option. It really works! I checked my blood glucose and it worked perfectly. It is accurate because my husband felt strange after working out. I used the machine to check his blood sugar and it detected a low blood sugar. We double checked this with our older machine, and it showed to be the same amounts. If you are thinking of getting this for yourself or a loved one, it is a must buy! it can detect low and high blood sugars accurately! The only "con" is that it does not come with batteries. It requires two AAA batteries that it does not come with.

I have a medical condition that I have often wondered may correlate to my blood sugar. Since I have only ever had my blood sugar tested at a doctors office I have not been able to see for sure if there is any relation. Now that I have this monitor I can do just that. The monitor is easy to use in its basic form once you figure it out. There is no power button or switch. Just pop the test strip in and it powers on immediately and powers off immediately once the strip is removed. Prick your finger with the supplied lancets and touch the tip of the test strip to the second drop of blood drawn and a countdown from 5 begins. After 5 seconds the results are then shown on the screen in mg/dL. I have no way to test the accuracy but for my needs I am looking to get baseline readings and then when I am experiencing my medical issue I can see if the results are much lower or higher giving me an idea if the condition could be related to my blood sugar. Some things I don't like about this unit. The picture shows you are able to see different units of mmol/L but I have not figured out how to get those units to display. It is not very intuitive There is also a memory function that I find to not be very intuitive. I found the battery cover pretty hard to take off, I can see this being a bigger issue for older folks or someone who has weaker fingers. The display doesn't light up so it may be a bit more difficult for some people to read the results. The carrying bag that it comes with could also be larger. It really isn't big enough to hold all the items that come in this package. My biggest complaint of all though is the instructions are absolutely horrific. Everything is on two large sheets that open up. The print is incredibly small and somewhat faint in color. I had a very difficult time trying to understand where to go next from one instruction to the next. A better instruction booklet would be a huge improvement and maybe would help to solve my other complaints as well. For now though look for the incredibly small numbers which I suppose are page numbers, that was the only way I was able to half way navigate thru the awful instructions. Even then I still feel the information was lacking or maybe it was just to difficult for me to read. TLDR: All in all this unit works and does its job but there is definitely room for improvement in the user experience. Minus one star for not being so intuitive and difficulty in opening the battery cover and minus another star for the absolutely awful instruction booklet.

This item seemed to be great first but honestly, I regret getting it. This item seems to not be accurate at all, because Everytime I have tried this item (using it and using the one I got through my medical insurance) I have tried for a week and each and every time, I tried multiple times and it was always having a wide range of different readings. I also tried with my main one and it was reading it the same)I would try 2-3 times each time I did a reading, with each meter.. so I did it 4-6 times each time, because 2-3 times per meter.), it seemed to be non consistent with it's readings.. but my other one seemed to be around the same each time. I don't understand as to why it did this, my father is more of an expert with this and he also tried it and said that these readings are not right with this meter., which was I already knew myself but I needed someone else to confirm and he confirmed what I already knew. I wish this meter worked better, but may have all you need but if it doesn't take accurate results then it is quite honestly useless. Sorry to report but this set, from my experience isn't worth getting. I could not in good conscience, recommend this device to you or your loved ones. Because, it doesn't produce accurate results.

I have suffered with Diabetes for over twenty years now and nothing is more frustrating than to borne able to find the test meter when I always keep it in a safe place. I don't have time to go looking when I have a flight to catch. With this kit in it's little carry bag on standby, I just grab it and go. I tested this meter against my normal one and they were close enough but not totally exact. You have to install two AAA batteries (not included ) and the kit comes with 100 test strips. The price is around the $30 mark or so which is about right but cheap for the peace of mind it provides.

I got this for a backup test kit for my daughter who is a type 1 diabetic but I'm very disappointed in the accuracy when compared to her CGM and other testing kit. I do appreciate that there are a bunch of test strips included but I could not find a way to buy replacement strips so that renders this meter useless. Not a fan of the drawstring bag, every meter my daughter has ever used comes with a zippered pouch making it easy to access and lay out while preparing to test. All of the above is overridden by the fact that the meter is not accurate. This is not anything either of us are willing to compromise on so this meter will not be used.

This kit comes with all you need to check your glucose level. It includes 2 bags of the needles and two containers of test strips. It only includes a small drawstring bag to store it all in, and it all doesn’t really fit in together. It takes 2 AAA batteries which were not included. Lightweight and compact.

I have type 2 diabetes and I have had many blood glucose monitors so I thought I would try this one. First of all it doesn't come with a battery like every other one I've ever gotten has had. It also doesn't come with a handy carrying case to keep all the parts together. They cheaped way out and put it in a small drawstring bag that is so small that it's a struggle to get it all out of. I'll just keep this as a back up unit but I would never be willing to actually pay for it.
