I purchased one device only two years ago. It controls only one shutter panel. We have 36. So, before any major investment it had to have proven reliability. I’m pleased to report after almost daily operation it works well! There were some minor modifications needed, but if you’re moderately handy, no big deal. The operating noise isn’t too bad, although it is NOT silent. I am using possibly six more of these for shutters that are a little difficult reach for my wife. Overall, I’m satisfied.

If you need to motorize your plantation shutters, go for this. The set up can be a bit tricky and confusing initially, but after I read the manual carefully and FACTORY RESET the item, everything sorts out well. Remember to read the manual -- it has everything. If you can't understand what the manual says, find a Chinese friend to read the Chinese version of the manual for you. Also, the remote and zigbee version is mostly the same to me except for the accessories. For the zigbee version you get a zigbee dongle that translates zigbee signal to infrared signal. For the remote version you get a infrared remote that sends infrared signal directly. For both versions, as long as you pair them correctly, you could have just one zigbee dongle/remote that controls multiple motors simultaneously. So for example, if you need 10 of those and want zigbee and IR remote control, then you could just purchase one zigbee version, one remote version, and for the rest 8 of them, you can get either zigbee or remote version. The Bluetooth version seems different from the above two. The Bluetooth version can connect to your phone directly with Bluetooth, but I didn't confirm whether it can be controlled by infrared signals. It doesn't seem to respond to infrared signals, but again I haven't dig into this. To be able to control the zigbee / remote versions with the Tuya app and Google assistant, here are what you need (at least in my case): - some zigbee / remote versions of the motor depending on the number of shutters you are controlling. If in doubt, just get zigbee version for all of them. - one zigbee dongle (comes with one zigbee version of the motor) - one zigbee hub. You can get one from this merchant, or other Tuya zigbee hubs may also work. For me, the zigbee hub from MOEN also works. The hub translates wifi signals to zigbee signals. With these items in your hand, all you need to do is: - connect the gateway to your app (follow what the Tuya app says) - with the hub turned on, connect the zigbee dongle to the hub (again, follow the instructions in the Tuya app) - with both the hub and dongle on, pair all your motors with the single dongle. (This is described in the manual of this product.)

I have installed 10 of these motors (zigbee + solar panel) in my home and used them for more than half a year. So far I believe this is the best solution on the market, even it is far from perfect. I recommend to get the hub and solar panel. Please note that, these motors works, but requires a lot of DIY skills. I have hit a few issues, which include dead battery, broken charging port, motor problem, when installing the 10 motors. However, their customer service helped a lot, so I eventually installed all 10 motors successfully and control all of them together on my phone with automations through the zigbee hub. I am happy with the result I got so far.

The automation on the shutters works about 75% of the time. The remaining 25% either it doesn’t open all the way, doesn’t close all the way, or just doesn’t do anything. Also, unless you place them on the front of your blinds, it’s tricky to get them to fit. If you place them on the front of your shutters it wouldn’t look very professional though.
