  • Don't trust the bad reviews. At least 5 stars
Very good quality and do not trust those telling you that it's too big or bulky. It will obviously be bigger than a regular holster but when you need it for an FNX45 with an optic and a streamlight TLR1 HL, how can someone expect to get a small or regular one? If you need something for concealled carry, get a leather one. This is your go to range holster but not really for conceal carry though. It fits perfectly close to the body, easy to remove and includes all the extra accessories. Also very confortable. Just get a screwdriver and replace the pad if you prefer. So easy to install. I sent back 4 holsters in the last week but I am keeping this one for sure. For my FNX, the holster looks smaller than any I have tried so far. Stop thinking and get it, you won't regret it. I would have paid twice that amount if I knew how good it was. Stay safe. ... show more

  • Great holster and it fits the Steyr m9!
Ok, so this holster does exactly what i wanted in every facet of the game. Thumb drive release works great though there is not much of an audible click when the light locks in. I have not had the issue with the pistol getting stuck as some have have, but it looks like that issue might stem from the mounting thumb screw on the light, just make sure the two raised nips are horizontal in relation to the muzzle of the pistol and it shouldnt be an issue. Keep in mind, this holster is HUGE, its a tactical holster and will be fairly difficult to concealed carry with, i didnt buy it for that so its not an issue for me, but its just something to keep in mind. When using the blackhawk SERPA Quick Disconnect system the holster mounts comfortably and solidly to all serpa platforms including the thigh holster which everyone seems to be having an issue with. I have all of my serpa holsters set up with the QD mounts so it was a no brainer for me. I have tried this with every full size and compact pistol i have with a rail. it fit ALMOST everything perfectly. Basically as long as the tlr-1 or 2 light fit the pistol, it will fit in the holster. YES THIS HOLSTER WILL FIT A STEYR M9-A1 there is plenty of room. I know the holsters for the steyr pistols are hard to come by so i figured that deserved special mention. Mine is the M variant but it should work fine with the L9-A1 (or the other calibers .40 and .357sig) other pistols i have tested with it m&p 45 sig 226r sig 1911 traditional tac ops hk p30 beretta px4 springfield xd 45 tactical Polymer 80 glock build (polymer 80 frame and slide) TLR 1 would not fit (therefore the holster will not work with) hk45c Magnum Research MR9 eagle (walther p99 licensed clone) Springfield XD 45 mod 2 sub compact (not a surprise as its a sub compact, but i figured id mention it) I do not have any of those Recover tactical rail grips they make for the 1911 and beretta 92, but the way the holster is designed I dont see why they wouldnt work, but if someone does have one, they will probably mention it in a review. I'm very happy with this holster and because of its versatility ill probably never need another one, BUT if i did, i wouldnt hesitate to buy one ... show more

  • Decent fit for a 1911
This holster works much better for a 1911 than it does for other styles of pistols. It's just the nature of the design but the majority of pistols will sit too high in the holster leaving the trigger exposed, but with the 1911 it sits further in the holster protecting the firearm/trigger better. It takes some practice drawing and reholstering to get the motions down, but once learned it holds the firearms relatively secure. I would not recommend this for duty use at all, I have seen some posters state they have used this on duty but I see that as irresponsible. The level of retention offered and the overall security of the holster (1 piece of plastic against the light itself to provide retention) doesn't lend itself as safe to a potential gun grab attempt, or even rolling on the ground in a combative arrest might cause enough twisting pressure on the gun to snap the plastic off that's gripping the light. You can see in my attached photos the way my 1911 fits (Sig 5" emporer scorpion), and refer to other posters photos to compare the depth that the pistol rides in the holster. I originally purchased this for a walther ppx that I own as a simple light bearing holster to use for night shoot practice, and it serves that purpose well. I normally use a safariland 6280 sls with sentry device for my 1911 w/surefire x300u for serious business, but I would use this one for it if I was in a pinch. It's overall versatility is worth the price, and it seems to be rugged and well made. Just understand this is NOT a duty holster, but a great open carry/camping holster. ... show more

  • Great value
Works great but I recommend it for a range hostler and not a duty holster.

  • Good multi-gun holster
I’ll try to keep this short. This is a really decent multi-gun holster for what you’re paying. This attaches to your weapon light NOT YOUR GUN. Some people won’t like this, but remember- your weapon light is literally bolted to your sidearm, so you have no argument about it “not being secure” because of this. The security is going to come in the locking system. This is where I say quality is decent, could be better with better design. The lock catch (that secured to the LIGHT) is a small polymer piece that is decently secure. The firearm isn’t going anywhere, however I worry about prolonged use. It may hold up well over time, not sure. Keep in mind, this holster is rather large, but it’s still built well. The one thing I don’t care for is the rubber thats all over the outside of the holster. It grabs everything, especially in a vehicle. Blackhawk needs to do away with that design. Overall, I think this is a fantastic level II retention holder. However...for duty use i’m semi skeptical. That would be up to the individual to decide for him or herself to use as a duty holster. I think it could be done, me personally I’m not sure. Off duty, casual, range, or any other carry (besides concealed) 100% perfect. Very genius holster. I have used this mode (TLR-1 & 2) with all handguns I own. Sig Sauer P229, Sig Sauer 1911 Scorpion (carry model and full sized) Gen5 Glock 17. This also fits 2011 handgun’s like the Staccato P. Definitely recommend overall. ... show more
